Can anyone who really knows confirm what a battalionlord is? Sounds important, but is it the most important or are there princes or something above?

Leader of a Battalion of Soldiers. Lighteyes of a lower Dahn. They would be over a Captain.

Ok, thanks. So if the high princes are in the game (99% likely) they are probably the #2s in each faction.

Depends on if the factions are exact copies or not. The Kholin faction could have Dalinar and his son, Adolin, who were both Shardbearers. From what I remember, Sadeas didn't have anyone like that in the book. Thanadar, looking at the Coppermind Wiki, didn't have any shards himself, but he had a full Shardbearer under him and 3 more soldiers with shards.

But, again, this is all speculation based on how the books are. I'm not sure how close to the books the game is.

The shard stuff is all just jibberjabber to me, but you could be right. I suspect the factions are still pretty close to symmetrical, though. Basing that on Azath being the creator and on the roles being generic titles like captain or battalionlord instead of names.

Well, I finally finshed the book that is the source material (yes, as usual, I picked the third, unmentioned, option).

Not sure if I like the idea of stretching this series to 10 books (at least right now). But in itself, The way of Kings is pretty impressive.

edited to fix the tags.

gwynn ap nudd? Mythological Welsh figure (haha wiki)? Or is that something book-specific? I should prob go over the Wiki again, as I haven't actually read WoK.

I'm curious now that there is more of a reveal for a Parsh, but I won't be able to get back on until later today.

Gwynn is a player. Just saying.

Can someone explain to me what a Brightlord is?

Apart from there being one death less than yesterday, they are spread out evenly again. And it seems we know why Telas defended Liosan yesterday.

Gwyn is a player. PS mixed up his CF's up there. Player names are : Gwyn, vengeance, and Corv.

So, the CF is the same as Brujah's.

If I remember correctly, Kholin didn't get a gemheart yesterday, and there were only 3 deaths, once again, all equally spread out.

The class system in the book is based on a person's eyes. Those with dark eyes are lower class, while those with light eyes are noble. A brightlord is a high ranking individual within the ruling class. As you said with Telas defending Liosan, I think you can manage to figure out the hierarchy.

Are you trying to imply that gemhearts are linked to NK abilities? I'll check back to the day 1 info on the hearts to see if that plays out, but it would seem hard to believe that there isn't some kind of dedicated killer role.

That wasn't am implication. It was fairly blatantly saying that it seems more than a bit of a coincidence. Just like all 4 factions being hit equally, then 3 factions out of 4 being hit, seems to be more than a coincidence.

We haven't had one faction hit twice in the same night with that many night-kills floating around? Okay.

You seem to have forgotten that there were 3 chasmfiends on day 2 and we had 4 NKs.
I think it's more likely that a killer role was killed. (either the captain or the battalion commander.)

And the equal distribution of the kills?

Hey, I could be wrong. I have no idea how it works obviously. It just seems strange.

I don't know. luck maybe?
what do you think can cause the equal distribution? I don't think any sane mechanic would allow that.
