Sukul the Fickle Sister WIP

A quick sketch I started today. Thought I'd post it here for some critique before I put too much work into it. You guys are always very helpful with this, which is awesome. I'm giving her some more clothes than Menandore got, and I'm wondering if I should give her some "proto-wings" as well, as i'm thinking about doing Sheltata too, and it would be cool to have something that tied all the paintings together...like a nice carpet
So, what do you think so far?

I can't decide.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Legs, shoulders and space between neck and chest need armour too. Right now those shoulder plates are hanging off a bikini strap and it looks odd.
Won't really be Sukul until you can work in the dappled skin patterning. Interested in seeing how you do that.

But I want to show skiiiiiiiiiin Yeah, more armour is coming, hehe.
I'm very exited about the piebald skin myself, I think it'll be a fun challenge. I have gathered som cool ref. pics so hopefully I'll manage to paint the skin how I see it in my head

I don't think I'd do the wings....
I like the idea of adding the light source, but maybe on the other side of her? So that she's looking away from the light, instead of back into it? I don't know why, but I think that would make a much more interesting scene.
As far as the posture goes, I like that it seems to be a non-human posture - it would be an unnatural posture for a human.
Is that a cape or background filler?
I'd ax the cape idea if it is one.

She's described as having a full-length sealskin cape or cloak, so yeah, it' s a cape
I'll try playing around with the light source and see where it gets me.

You could go the opposite route and skip armour entirely. Menandore is the only one of the three 'sisters' perpetually described as all armoured up iirc. Lose thesword, stick her in some kind of semi-shadowed light/darkness setting.... maybe leave a crushed Imass skull in her hands or something.

I'm with Abyss on this (oh my), you could leave her armorless or with just a few pieces on

Only the late Frank Frazetta might have convinced me that actual meant-for-battle armor that surrounds, but doesn't cover, a woman's breasts, makes any sense.

Here's a sketch with more armour on. If I'm going to do without armour, I'll have to find another pose for her, one a bit more pinuppy

I love the look on her face. Great work there. Her rear foot seems a little strange. Not the bend, but the fact that it's on the same plane as her front foot. Gives me an Egyptian hieroglyphics vibe. Nice design on the armor.

Thanks, I'm quite fond of her face as well:)
Eek, you're right about the foot, will get that sorted!
I think I just might end up doing two separate paintings, one more iconic and nude, and this one based on an actual paragraph from ze books. Or maybe this can turn out to be someone else?
Suggestions?
