I grabbed the Gauss Shields because of mister positron computer to my right. Now that he is looking to create a backdoor to my homeworld I wanted a little more protection in case he wants to go backdoor on me. Plus they cancel out the ancients computer to give me an additional edge in the fight.

Here's a thought. Pass early and when IH moves his dread to attack the ancient do a reaction move to his homeworld. The threat of it might keep him from taking the tile after all and he loses his interceptor for nothing.

You might as well take the discovery. If you go bankrupt, you can then take the disc off (just don't go too bankrupt).

And yes, your science planet has been colonized.

I think she also wants to know if you are going to place it on one of your ship blueprints now or if you want to wait to put it on one later.

The ships are not locked with the possible exception of the Starbase. Though you can upgrade a blueprint of all ships including the starbase even if you haven't researched it yet. You don't have to have one built before you are able to upgrade them.
