Ok I don't have time to work through the possibilities caused by EM's treachery, but I think the logical response is still for me to move my dread to defend against twelves in D'reks homeworld. So move dread to d'reks homeworld. Assuming you want that d'rek?

So move dread to d'reks homeworld unless she says otherwise and I'll come up with another move.

D'rek you should build cruisers to prevent twelve from reinforcing his dread.

I don't think there's much value for you in responding to EM's attack. You'll lose 1 VP from that hex at most. Since this is round 8 it doesnt really affect your resources for later at all, either (except for tie-breaking).

Thanks for the dread!

I'll build two cruisers, on in Delta Corvi and one in Psi Capricorni (worried about twelve trying to bomb other places, too)

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Hmmm... I didn't see that as a possibility. Stupid Point Defense. It's been the bane of my game so far. So much of what I've done was in counter of that stupid tech.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Upgrade Cruiser

2 improved hulls replace one gluon computer and nuclear source.

CF if you can move two interceptors into either Delta Corvi or Psi Capricorni that would help me get reinforcements to D'reks homeworld so I might actually win that fight.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

My plans are to neutron bomb D'rek back to the stone age. I want to take out as many of her hexes this round as possible while suffering minimal losses. I might have to chuck up my dread as a loss if I can't get reinforcements to it but if you can get ships in her other hexes to free up my ships to fly to her homeworld then I would appreciate it. Otherwies do what you think is best.

Wow, that's a sneaky move. Didn't see that coming and now I'm curious how you're going to proceed from this...

Can he even influence Beta Sextantis? Doesn't he have to have a ship there or have an adjacent influence disk to be able to do that. Swamped at work or would look it up myself.

My interceptor is still sitting there.

and per the rules you can influence adjacent to any ship or any hex that already has an INF disc in it.

Not sneaky...logical, though I wouldn't expect one with an organic brain to be able to process the full depth of it.

EDIT

i like how my original machinelike roleplaying has degenerated through the game into just me acting like a douchey machine.

Edit Edit

Fun as it is, I would have driven myself crazy by now trying to RP an entire game. Unless everyone is on board next time, it will be hard to keep it up. .

And don't worry Twelve. Absolutely no plans of treachery. My reasoning behind taking B. Sextantis was basically to put a Mechanema build location closer to the front and to cap that juicy 2VP hex. All my shit was just too far away from the action to be of much use. The reasoning behind taking Beta whateverthefuckitscalled was the double economy upper. It netted me more total actions this turn and next to take it rather than just prevent someone else influencing it.

No worries. I just thought that to influence via ship the ship had to be on the hex it was influencing and not adjacent to it.

copy paste from the influence action section of the pdf rulebook

• to a hex that does not contain an Influence Disc or an enemy
Ship and is adjacent to a hex where you have a disc
or a Ship, or
• to a hex where only you have a Ship, or
• back to your Influence Track.

I had to look it up too. Unless my interpretation is totally wrong somehow, but I don't really see how it can be. Seems clear-cut to me.

Our alliance was such a good freakin idea. Holy crap. I know it's more glorious to have a lone victory, but it's definitely fun coordinating the downfall of enemy civilizations with a buddy.
