oh, nice. Didn't realize D'reks post was being updated in real-time.

Looks like we took the hex!

Fuck, now what?

I guess now we get to bomb the shit out of planetary populations, yes?

So you get the first option to settle and populate the hex then I do if you don't want it.

Also D'rek I would like to change my allocation of population cubes on the GC if that is okay.

Material and both Grey planets. One as money and one as material.

We're not in upkeep phase yet, so you can still change your mind.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Drek your population cubes are automatically destroyed aren't they? It says so in your biography I think.

Uh what? Only the ones on orbitals when they lose in combat.

Hmm, probably best for me to influence it given that I'm lagging you quite a bit in production and economy (esp with your GC capture) and it gives me 2 VPs to narrow our present VP gap, but I can't do so this turn having no colony ships. Influencing now would be put at -1 and would be forced to de-influence at the end of the turn anyway.

I guess I *do* want to influence it for the above stated reasons, but not right this second.

D'rek, did you draw rep tiles yet or just leave them to the end of the round?

Waiting for Khell's battle to finish - drawing them for each battle in order.

Well I could influence it also but then I would have to change my planet allocation yet again and would have no colony ships left to populate any of the planets even if I did colonize it. Plus you are right that gaining additional VP will help narrow the gap between the two of us.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Narrowing the gap doesn't matter. The average of 10 and 10 is 10. The average of 1 and 19 is still 10. Either way it is 20 total points divided between two.

The only thing a point gap might do is entice the player with more points to betray the alliance :p

What happens now to Vega then Drek? I thought I didn't need to roll dice to destroy your population, silly me.

I've started doing the rolls, will post updates here as I go.

Eta Cephei battle is over - D'rek wins against the lone ancient.

Zeta Draconis battle is underway.

Engagement Round 1:
Ancient Ships deal 2 damage to Khell's dreadnaught.
Khell's cruiser misss.
Khell's dreadnaught misses.

Engagement Round 2:
Ancient Ships dead 1 damage to Khell's dreadnaught.

Khell, what do you want to do? Keep shooting? Try and retreat the dreadnaught?

Sorry, what the fuck is this?

No one else had any trouble with the fucking fucky Ancients, and they all had less shit on their ships than I did. So, I repeat, what the fuck is this?

If I keep fighting how likely is it that I destroy those cruisers? I don't care about losing ships in the process, so long as it gets me the hex.

Oh, also, have you done that thing the Lyra can do - flipping an unused colony ship to re-roll a missed die, or something like that?

Can't he use his unused colony ships to reroll a dice if he wants to?

Oh and Khell it means that you are getting highly unlucky with your rolls is all.

First of all, Khell, everyone else has been fighting single ancients and you are fighting two.

Secondly, if you want me to do a thing you better tell me to! Geez!

Money:2+12-13=1
Research:2+6=8
Production: 10+6=16

Sorry, I wasn't taking it out on you, just at the stupid dice rolls. Even if there was only one ancient there, I'd still be fighting the goddamn thing now with those crappy results. And, what do you mean, don't you know my race skills inside out? Slacker! :p

Now, do the thing with the other thing which makes the third thing which lets me win! Can that last miss be rerolled or is it too late?

And keep shooting at them rargh!

Now that all battles are resolved, hexes where you have ships and there are no enemy ships or cubes can be influenced. (You don't colonize them until the upkeep phase (if you even can))

I am influencing Eta Cephei. I take the discovery tile and it is: +5 Science. I take the bonus science and discard the tile.

Twelve influences the Galactic Centre and draws the Muon Source discovery tile.

Khell - do you want to influence Zeta Draconis? You flipped your colony ships in battle so you won't be able to put any cubes down before upkeep, so you may judge it to be worth waiting until next round to influence it. Let me know.

CF/Twelve - what's happening in Beta Leonis?
