Hello, Malazan Empire! I'm new

The title says it all, just introducing myself: ShantyKing! I recently got into this series and I'm hooked and blown away.
I'm reading Memories of Ice right now. I got into High Fantasy with the Song of Ice and Fire series, after watching the Game of Thrones TV show. After I finished the fifth book, I was hungry for more but of course GRRM writes painfully slow. I found a recommendation for the Malazan books citing it was similar to GRRM's work and a good way to pass the time until GRRM releases another.
So I got GotM and fell in love. Now it's my favorite fictional series ever. I've even started to get back into drawing, so I can flesh out some of the characters and add the art gallery here.
Well, cheers!

Awesome. Once you're done with MBOTF, the third series in the trifecta you have to tackle is Sword of Truth. You've done Bronze, you're doing Silver now, but Gold awaits!
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

To be clear, worrywort is joking/playing a trick. It's a terrible trick, but hey, it might get someone.
Welcome to the forums, ShantyKing.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

On the contrary, amphibian is playing the trick. You can tell by how nice he's being in the rest of the post, as if to lull you into something.

I'd say 'well played' except that we're going to lose new members if you cause their eyes to rupture.

Their eyes will rupture or their brain will hemorrhage. Either way they won't be coming back to the forum.
Welcome to the Empire ShantyKing, don't do anything worrywort says. He's a liar.

Yah, I'm the liar. That must be why I'm recommending the Sword of TRUTH.

If you couldn't tell, there would be a smiley rolling its eyes after that last comment, if anybody had invented one yet.

Worrywort's right. I think it's fair to say that the vast majority of people on this board regard Terry Goodkind as being on par with, if not streets ahead of Steven Erikson, as a writer and storyteller. If you've enjoyed MBotF, man...you've got another thing coming.

The love I bear thee can afford no better term than this: thou art a villain.

Why even waste time on Silver? I just tossed out my MBotF books and purchased the Sword of Truth series. Thank you for the recommendation!

Ah yes, you will fit in just fine.
Please be sure to present yourself for DNA scan, optical inversion implant, credit check and redundant organ inventory in the next ten days.
