My local store now has more than 200 copies in-store. I shall be picking it up on the way home tonight...and Mrs. QT is having her cousin over to play Just Dance video games...which means I can vacate to the guest room and read all night.

Very excited!

I'm still a little annoyed the Kindle release has been pushed back to, what, April? Well, more annoyed I had a terrible night's sleep and didn't get up with my alarms but oh well, busward to the bookstore in a bit.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Yeah, that seems backwards...until you remember that some larger Publishers still hate eBooks as they see it as their downfall, or at least the need to revamp an antiquated business model (in which they make money hand over fist, unchecked) to a newer business model (where they make more reasonable money for more work and dedication and less screwing over of the customer). Which is probably the reason for the push back. They want three months of selling hardcovers before they let the eBooks out to play, because more and more publishers are being called out for trying to price the eBook at the same cost of the hardcover...so a delay is a way around it that can be fudged to the customer as *insert reason for delay here*.

Better than yelling at Harriet (what is even her surname anyway?) for wanting months of hardback only sales to get that last number one. Still, £25.

Twenty five pounds.

If it wasn't the last one I'd probably have waited til April for a version that wouldn't break my bank.

Harriet Stoney Popham McDougal Rigney, a.k.a. Harriet McDougal. The last two are married names; she kept her first married name as her professional name.

Holy shit. That's like $50! Are you shitting me? That's a LOT of coin! It's about $25 here in Canada...which I guess would translate as £12.50...I wonder why it's so much over there?

Oh fuck me. It's here. I think I just shat myself.

A co-worker just emailed me from a store on the other side of the city where they're selling, asking whether i wanted her to buy me one when she gets hers.
I told her to buy me six and i'd pick the best one and she can return the rest.

Curiously, she hasn't replied.
