To some extent, although that would implicate OE more than Ruse, since OE was the one talking about masters and symps. Mostly it's because there seems to be a connection between him and OE, and to be quite frank we need to start somewhere. If you have a better idea I would love to hear it.

A vote which I don't particularly understand. Why do you dislike modkilling? In what way is it different to a lynch or a NK? It seems like a waste to lynch someone who is going to be modkilled anyway, and as he has posted nothing whatsoever his lynch will give us absolutely no information to be used for tomorrow.

Someone signs up to play Blend's game, (who has been really excited about Modding it for months), then they don't post and in a way breaks whatever design he had for the game. Two deaths day one was something I don't think he planned for. So instead of him having to Modkill we lynch the person in question.

I don't think we'll get a lynch today anyway as time is running low

In that case, voting the mod-killed person is only required if/when we don't get a CF from the mod-kill. Òr when he pops up 2 minutes before timeout and posts "nehnehnehr, got you, suckerzzz!".

This is interesting. We have both switched our avatars since that whole confusion came up and now both avatars are very different. You, look like you are trying to jump start a day 1 train under the guise of avatars. This being a faction game, that seems dangerous...unless of course you are in a faction that is severely out numbered and are fairly certain you won't be hitting your own faction....

The underlined part in particular. It seems like an unnecessary justification for what essentially felt like a joke vote at the time. However, this reaction has me wondering if there is some kind of connection with Olar Ethil that Ruse is trying to distract from, particularly since OE responded rather oddly to this post as well.

I'd write it down to joking, but then there is the top of the page thingie with Ruse berating OE about the self-vote, as you mention.

So, with all the caution due to a day 1 "case" based on two statements that could well be real tongue in cheek, it seems Ruse either
a) is a power player who wants a non-informative playing field to blend into;
loves lecturing;
c) warns his faction to not stand out but blend into town, in which case, he clearly expects someone on his team to know him, which points to a) again and puts him in a minority faction.

Not contradicting myself. There is info on thread, but it's only going to really be analyzable as a pattern or possibilities later in the game.

As for voting, I will join in on a Ruse vote. It sounds like there are a lot of roles of some sort, but if we're rooting out the tinier scum faction lynching is still infotastic.

I'm honestly surprised that the fener = scum thing has stuck around so long. But your anger is delicious, oh so delicious.

The Fener = scum thing has stuck around so long because it is so often true! There's been enough games where people jokingly vote Fener day 1 just because Fener, but end up not lynching him, and he turns out scum at the end and everyone hates that alt's guts.

And when Fener isn't scum it ends up being the Dreadfather or a syndicate henchman or some other undesired role.
