I set up a league for fantasy basketball. I sent an auto invite via email to everyone on our football league except Wrong Crowd and One Eyed Wildcat, because their two emails are private.

We can do another offline draft here, just like football, except a B-Ball team only fields 5 players, plus bench, so it would be MUCH quicker and easier to complete the draft.

If you guys feel like playing, sign up. If not, it's fine. This year was the first time playing fantasy football, and not knowing how the settup and scoring placed a heavy importance on RBs left me severely handicapped. I could of made a much better draft had I realized, so I figured next year would be much better, and since that's a year away, we could do a basketball league. I've never done a basketball one either, so I'm not even sure how many players total we will need, but it has to be less than 10.

http://basketball.fa....com/nba/115428

Here's the link. League ID 115428. If we have enough interest we can start draft whenever. Should be a quick draft.

Is it a once per week change league?

If so, I'd join. If it requires daily maintenance it is too cumbersome for me. Which is why I don't MLB fantasy it.

I'm with Hoosier. I have signed up and I'm ready but only on the once per week thing. I am different time zone and everything. It'd just mess with my head. I have never done one before either.

Some FBL leagues are only once a week. I played one a couple years ago where you could only change your lineup on mondays.

I didn't even think about that, duh.

Yeah, even I wouldn't want to do a daily maintain. Either it allows us to do it pretty much the same way as football, once a week, and we can play, or if not then screw it. If anyone wants to log into it and tweek the settings, go ahead. Also, if some of us don't want to play, we could open it up for others to join.

We'll just play it by ear for now.

Yeah, it has a once per week on Monday option. Max of 12 teams, but we could go with as little as 8 to 10.

League settup to start scoring the week of Nov 12. If we can get enough interest and get draft completed by then, we'll start. If not, it's not really a big deal. Football is way more fun, but I'd give Basketball a shot, at least once, if enough of you feel up to it. For now, we'll see how it goes.

I will consider it. The one time that I tried a FBL I ended up ignoring it because of the required daily changes.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

I've only played it once, ended up winning the league but like so many before mentioned it is very time consuming and even at once a week I'm not sure I'm up for it. I'll play if you need the numbers but otherwise I think I'll sit this one out.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

What he says, plus, I know nothing about it. Count me as a last resort option.

Ok guys and gals. I was assuming that fielding 5 players for basketball team instead of the 11 players on a football team(on the field at one time) meant that it would be a much quicker and easier draft, but it looks like a roster consists of 13! Players, which is only 1 less than the 14 for our football rosters. So I don't see us getting enough interest to pull off another large/long draft, especially since most people find football far more fun to play.

So here are our options. We go ahead with our offline draft with those of us who are hardcore sports fans, assuming we get at least 8 people.

Or we bite the bullet and go with an auto draft. Auto draft for basketball would he far different than football, because there's so many games, therefore the adding and dropping of players will be what determines a winner in basketball, and less importance on the initial draft results. Anyway, if nothing else, for those that don't feel like maintaining their roster, they can auto draft and let it ride. The rest of us can attempt to maneuver our way to victory with the weekly swapping of players.

Or we can skip it altogether. It's not really that big of a deal to me. I'll play if enough people want to, but I won't care if we don't end up playing. I just felt like testing the waters, and seeing if it was fun. I never played fantasy football until this year, but I really enjoyed it. I just wish I knew what I should of focused on before the draft. Being behind because of poor choices takes a lot of the competitive fun out of it, but I still think it was great fun.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think about an auto draft. I'd never want to do an auto draft in football, but it might be ok for basketball. Up to you guys.

I am not too worked up about this one. I could go for either a no start, auto draft or pick em. It depends on how many people we have. I'd be happy to beat Venge, you and Hoosier!
