Dark Side of the Rainbow Anyone tried this?

OK, I didn't know this was a thing, but apparently if you play Pink Floyd's DARK SIDE OF THE MOON while watching THE WIZARD OF OZ, some pretty interesting coincidences occur.
Read more here.
A local theater is doing it next week (that's how I found out about this), which sounds awesome, but I won't be in town. I must try this though.
I can't believe I have never heard of this before.
Anyone tried it? Was it fun? Lame?

OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Yes it is pretty sweet. It was all the rage in the mid to late 90s.
Even cooler, is taking Pink Floyd's Echoes and starting the 23 minute song exactly when the 3rd section of the movie 2001 starts (has an act card that says Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite) and synching the song to start exactly when that part of the movie starts easy with DVD/CD/Computer (its on youtube as well but horrible low-res). It is incredible. Especially since Kubrick wanted Floyd to do the soundtrack to that movie (though this is purely coincidence).

Yeah, I was gonna say, this has been a thing since the 90's at the latest...
and here in Toronto they screened Oz with the Dark Side soundtrack at our planetarium. I was like 17 and pretty fried that night but I remember being pretty impressed.

Well, I spent most of the 90s in grad school, so that's why I missed out on it.
I bet even weirder would be synching up the soundtrack of WIZARD to the movie of THE WALL.

It goes back further than the 90s and it's awesome provided you're already familiar with the movie and DARK SIDE.
I know a few people who only experienced one or both for the first time like this and the effect is mostly lost.

I seem to remember the bit where the tornado turns up, Dot banging her head and starting to "hallucinate" ( looking out of the window) and the whole Munchkins dancing to "Us and Them" as being particularly good. Some of the synchro between scene cuts in the movie and chord/ pace changes in the music are spookily in time.
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.

Such as this? I really wish they had accepted the request to do the soundtrack for this, as has been rumoured in the past. Although some argue that Meddle, and Echoes in particular, were kinda inspired by 2001.

Yeh, Meddle was definitely influenced by 2001, as was the video animation for this slice of awesome.
