Don't worry Abyss...they will capitulate...just as we did.

They put on a good show, but one by one, they will fall...like dominoes.

I didn't cave for the The Dark Knight Rises movie and I actually still haven't seen it yet.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I'm seriously considering buying Ghost Story just to read the sample chapter of Cold Days.... (the local bookstores here don't sell the Dresden books, so I have to get them online).

Y'know, it's ok for you all to go look at the preview chapter.
We don't care. We won't judge.
It doesn't lessen you as a person.

In fact, it's an opportunity for character growth and maturation. You OWE it to yourself to go look at that chapter.
to reward yourself for being a good person, someone who DESERVES the happiness that reading that chapter will bring.

Go on. Give your thinkymeatz a big dresdencrack-filled hug straight to your cerebral cortex via your optic nerves!

Don't you want to be happy? Don't you deserve to be???

Interestingly, the only online previews I've been unable to resist were DoD/TCG.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

After the interminable wait for Martin (book 4) that saw approximately 3/4 of the book available as preview chapters on-line (note - fraction may be exaggerated. But not by much) and thus somewhat spoiling much of the book in terms of "shiny new stuff",

I now refuse to read preview chapters if I can possibly avoid them.
meh. Link was dead :(

I caved in yesterday, stood there in the book store with a huge grin on my face reading one of the best chapters in the series. I think they were on the verge of calling security (Im kind of big with a beard and my work dont require a suit or so). It was awesome. Coincidentally (Amph's post) I saw TDKR tonight. It was awesome. Choose happiness and good things.

Oh cmon AIJ... everyone else is doing it. It's just one tiny little sample chapter. What could possibly go wrong?

You shut your mouth!

AIJ, don't give in to pressure to read the sample chapter.

Lets do the math shall we...

Dresdencrack + new Dresdencrack book + free chapter + best ever Dresden chapter (maybe slight exaggeration but deliver the temptation) + Dresdencrack + Dresdencrack + Dresdencrack = ARE YOU IDIOTS?!?!?!?

I USED to avoid preview chapters, and especially someone like GRRM who releases chapters that are not just from the beginning of his books oddly...but Butcher's Dresden samples are always just the first chapter or two or three...so I gave in and I'm kind of glad I did as it gave me a little taster. I'll still re-read it when I get the actual book, but it was such a balm to my dresdencrack addled nerves that I can't help but hope everyone gives in and reads them.

I have not caved. I will not cave. I've never read any previous Dresden preview chapters, and don't intend to start now. I want to experience the pure, full hit of the real thing.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

It's easy for me, since there are no book stores in the area that I frequent around where I work, nor are there any that I have to pass on my way home. I can wait this out... right?

See? SEE???
LOOK at how happy they are. See what you're missing by denying yourselves this small silly pleasure?

Why, WHY do you self-hate so much? Don't you deserve better? Don't you deserve to see the drop deap utterly awesome thing that happens about three-and-a-half pages in that may be sufficient dresdencrack fix in and of itself to hold you til the book comes out?

"cave' is such a dark, dismal word. Think of it as 'enlightenment'.

I'm currently detoxing from reading so much Dresden back to back. If I give in to that ONE teaser, I could find myself at Jim Butcher's house demanding more.

I'll tell you what...
here is a
really
teeny,
tiny spoiler...

Spoiler
.

It's small, so small, just a little factoid with no context or anything. Four little words. One of them is even 'a' so really it's three.

Go ahead and take a look and if that doesn't prompt you to go read the promo chapter than i will applaud your willpower and stop trying to help you help yourself.

Go on.... click.

How could it hurt?

You don't even have to admit that you did it.

Unfortunately I don't think they will be able to hide it...

After everyone reads that teeny tiny spoiler you will just see posts of...

'AYU'E9[AYG'E9GY'UA'

Where their heads will of hit the keyboard with awesome dresdencrack thinkymeatz overload passedoutedness (yes I just made that word up... I like it)

So aye, no hiding for them!

But come now brethren... become enlightened, why resist, so little work for so much yeehaw!
