Age of Mages? And Thel Akai

Inmay be assuming things here but don't Mages(human) live longer than non-mages?? We learn Tattersail is quite old. Tayschrenn as well. Is this due to their warrens?? Denul life prolonging?? Alchemies? Or did they both enter the deadhouse???
Are there any other examples of regular mages with prolonged life?
Also, are Thel Akai immortal in their life span? Ereko and Bellurdan Would have to be thousands of years old, maybe hundreds of thousands. Was this due to their race or because they were mages? We know their decendants the TTT have very long life spans, but since we don't have an example of a pure blood TTT mage it's hard to say if their mages would be immortal as well.
There were a lot of assumptions in there. Correct me if i am wrong. It's bad to speculate while drunk...

Not sure about Ereko, but Bellurdan to me seems like an ascendant. At least, he was together with an elder goddess for a very long time. Then again, he could be lighting century candles every so often.
So basically, I don't know. Thel Akai/Toblakai do live longer than humans, though.

Laseen did nothing wrong.

I remember a malazan officer (I thought Wiskeyjack) musing on the live-prolonging alchemies that the Empire provided for the Old Guard and army officers/commanders, but I can't for the life of me rememer when/where. Does anybody else remember this?

Are any of the races indiginous to Wu immortal?
I seem to recall that K'Chain, Jaghut and the FA are not native. I am assuming the FA are not because of new information in Forge of Darkness.
The Eres, Thel Akai, Imass and humans are.
It seems the deragoth roamed around Wu dispatching K'chain when it pleased them. At least according to the Raraku memory world.
Could the immortal races be immortal because they are not from Wu? Could changing realms lead to immortality? Like the Imass. They were of Wu but the ritual created them into beings that connected them with their warren permanantly. It seems strange that the Imass were connected with a fire realm and not Tennes... What if they had taken on the aspect of Tennes and used that warren for their ritual? Wow, way off topic. I wonder if the Tiste races were immortal in their realm?
Tried finding info on Mages from the encyclopedia but could find nothing.

Mages age slowly, but there may be a power-level link there, ie: a squad mage ages virtually normal, a cadre mage slower, a high mage so slow as to appear near unaging.
The Thel Akai are a tough call. When we first see one in RCG it's not even all that humanoid and seems more like one of the golems QB meets in Burn's Warren in MoI. Given what little we know of them, they may actually be less a race of humanoids than a race of 'elementals'.
Of the rest of the races, i don't think any are actually unaging but some age VERY slowly. If i'm not mistaken, we've seen examples in the series of 'old' members of every race except the Deragoth.

We've seen Jaghut children, but I don't think we've ever seen an aged Jaghut. Gothos, Hood and Gethol would be the oldest, but living in Azath, being undead and serving as Herald of Death all might make them exceptions. Still, it seems like Jaghut might not age past adulthood - Ganath, Cynnigig, the Huntress... they all seem quite healthy. Not at all like Reverance is to the FA. But it could simply be we never see an aged Jaghut.

Was it Nok? I recall the same musing but it evade me who says it. But definitely the old emperors inner core either resided in the Deadhouse or were given alchemical boosts to prolong their life, and therefore their usefulness.

It's hard to tell because as has already been said most of the examples of the elder races we've bumped into (like Gothos, that Thel Akai etc) could have been (or are) exceptional individuals. We know that certain exceptional individuals among the local races also live immense periods of time. Based on the K'Chain/FA->Jhagut->Imass kind of civilisational progression described in the early books we know that the bulk of those races are now extinct, therefore we don't know how many there were or how long they lived. It could be that all the Jhagut living today are just the badass immortals that survived the T'lan Imass, and so on. I don't think there's any evidence for it, but I don't think the K'Chain would be immortal, purely based on the "hive" concept of their civilisation. The idea of an immortal matron, and maybe a few elites like the assassins, but the bulk of the drones are probably just that, much like other hive creatures.

It was Admiral Nok in House of chains (Bantam MMPb Page 296) talking to Adjunct Tavore & Fist Gamet
".....Our residency in the deadhouse rewarded us with - as is now clearly evident - certain gifts. Longevity, immunity to most diseases, and ... other things. ..."
Edit~: Tayschrenn was definately part of the group resident in the deadhouse. Dunno about Tattersail tho

They're referring to alchemies provided to Old Guard who were *not* The Family and didn't stay in the Deadhouse (which yes, would include Tayrschrenn, but would not include Tattersail).
