I've been reading the Malazan series for the second time, and there's an issue that's been bugging me since my first read that I still haven't figured out. How oh how does Withal get back to the island to destroy the sword? I can't find any other topics on this, so I'm guessing that it must be explained somewhere that I've somehow missed twice.

Doesn't Mael get him there? Maybe that was just an assumption I made.

Mael got him off, Mael put him back.

I suppose that has to be it. It still bugs me that Withal had to sail away from the island, but appeared to be able to get back very quickly. Oh well, there are plenty of other nits I can obsess on. :-)
