The year is 1164 of Burn's Sleep; the 7th Army has left Hissar for the long march to Aren, refugees in tow. Hounded constantly by the armies of the Apocalypse, every day is a struggle to survive. In their irst major engagement, the Battle of Bat'rol, many of their numbers are killed. Among those thought to be dead are the 3rd Squad of Marines, under Sergeant Halt. No bodies are found in the aftermath of the battle, and the marines are thought to have been incinerated by sorcery.

In reality the Squad Mage, Tinder, used his sorcery to protect his squad mates from Kamist Reloe, but the defence went wrong, and in the magical backlash Tinder was destroyed, blasted into atoms. But the backlash caught his squad mates and flung them by warren to a distant land; to make matters worse, the Marines don't know where they are. Now they are driven to find their way home.

Return to Malaz is for White Wolf's New World of Darkness rules for Mortals (the rules presented in the World of Darkness rule book), with modifications for a High-Fantasy setting. The game is run as a play-by-post via Yahoo! Groups.

I am looking to fill the following roles in the squad- Sergeant Halt (this is the Storyteller character; I'll be using him to help the squad stay on track until everyone is comfortable with the setting)

Cutter (field surgeon)

2 Heavy Infantry (aka Tanks)

2 Sappers (demolitions specialists)

3 Combat Specialists

Standard Equipment is provided. Ask if you're interested.

I prefer players to be familiar with the NWOD system. I will be clearing all characters according to the rules, but I will not be assisting with creating characters, which means I won't be teaching anyone how to do it. I will also not be critiquing skill sets – if you want to be the cutter and you haven't got any levels in medical skills, that's your problem.

Send me an email if you're interested and I'll send out more detailed character creation information. The game only launches if all 8 spots are filled. california_rules2001@yahoo.com
