I can see the merits of an Anomandaris lynch, i might throw my vote on the pile after some consideration. I'll look over all the cases again and will post my opinion in a few minutes.

Hmmm, Galain was one of the ones who abstained from voting yesterday, and now he's lending credence to Rashan's case against Anomandaris? Perhaps Galain is Rashan's killer partner? He was part of the people who abstained from voting last round, so he could have been holding back to hammer vote if Rashan could get enough people on the Ampelas lynch train. Furthermore, I did a quick scan of the thread, and I don't think Galain has ever voted against Rashan, and Rashan hasn't voiced anything against Galain. Hmmmmm.....

Anyone that doesn't vote your way is scum? Let Galain do what he wants. If we get the Ano lynch your protests could say a lot about you when he cf's scum. And likewise if you lynch me when Icf inno.

Galain has questioned my posts quite a few times these last few pages, and yes, i abstained from voting because i didn't think Rashan was scum and didn't want to lose another Townie.

I didn't say anything about voting my way, I said something about voting period. I realize people are going to think I'm a killer if we manage to lynch you and you CF inno, but I'm willing to take the risk, cause the more I think about it, the more I like you for scum. Only time will tell, I suppose!

The only radar pings I have right now are on Galain for reason stated above, and on Fener for being so darn inactive. Neither of those cases is strong enough to warrant my changing my vote for now, so I'll stick with you Rashan.

Sorry, I'm really confused. Rashan is really going after me because I didn't think he was scum? Gonna read back through, but I'm not sure what Rashan's deal is...

So here are some texts from Rashan. I have deleted all his quoted material so It's easier to see what he said. You'll notice the progression from one suspect to another (mostly out of confusion is my guess and an unclear direction of how to go about investigating people). Even with the confusion, I still think town's best hope is in lynching Amp or Korbas atm. I will try to take a closer look at the other cases, such as on Telas and Galain, when I get home, but I at least want to close the book in my opinion of Rashan.

View PostRashan, on 24 May 2012 - 01:31 PM, said:

The theory here is that just about EVERYONE wanted to get rid of Shelly. I myself and anyone else that subscribes to this theory is doing so based on the fact that by saying you didn't see anything suspicious you can then turn around and say that you were right and the rest of us were wrong. We are working under the assumption that a killer MAY have beeen one of the people that said to ignore him. Korbas fit into this as well.

You're right, Khell DID mention several people but YOU were the one he had a vote on. I suspect that the roleplaying would tone down by day 2. He was already starting to be more helpful by the end of the day. The killers most likely took him out to eliminate what they considered to be the largest threat. If he could run the thread AND give a logical case on day 2 they would be fucked.

Why not be potentially scoping out or setting yourself up for potential targets all along? By end of day you would want to have options. I fail to see how these two statements contradict eachother. Early in the day I'm sure you would have a provisional list and then rearrange and confirm by night.

Looks like YOU are casting aspersions. I'm just saying that the middle of the road poster theory sucks. Either someone is going to be a high, middle or low poster. Period. It usually depends on the time on their hands. We DO most often find scum in the low poster category ONLY BECAUSE they often are afraid to say something that could be built into a case later.

Where have I NOT answered D'riss? The questions and accusations against me have been based on:

1) My vote on Shelly

2) My switch to the Tulas train.

I have REPEATEDLY said that MY vote was based on the theory that a killer might try to hide as an annoying high poster for a change. I have also said that I thought Tulas's drive by agreement with Shelly looked suspicious like EVERYONE ELSE DID and changed when after a few beers I logged in, didn't see a time but saw lots of votes going and thought fuck Shelly isn't happening better get a Tulas lynch. As it turns out BOTH were wrong. I'm NOT THE ONLY ONE GUILTY OF MAKING THIS MISTAKE.

Actuallly I started to suspect Telas because he threw down the vote on me when more eyes started looking at you. I think he got scared.

I believe this whole case is a flailing attempt to not lose a killer. I'm certain that we are looking at Ampelas and Telas. A lot of the same logic could be applied to a Korbas and Telas pair though as well, but I'm feeling Ampelas more. At this point in the game the killers cannot afford to lose eachother.

Starting off certain that Amp and Telas are the two baddies.

Karosis case minus the quotes:

I'm really disappointed with the lack of posting from folks. This game has been very quiet. Right now I can see this playing out that I'll get lynched because no one is playing the game. Which is kind of sad since I'm town y'all!!

So since I'm bored and amusing myself I decided I would look around at the rest of you further. I've been wondering about Karosis. Can't say that I have a read on him one way or the other TBH but doing some legwork for you.

He joined the game late....

Then proceeded to get caught into the whirlwind that was Kheltatha. Damn... I miss you Khell.. this game was more fun when you were still alive... *snif*

Was Khell REALLY the most lynchable player at the end of the day on Day 1? He was actually getting applauded by dropping the act at the end there.

And this is the last we hear from Karosis. Come join us back for lynch time ya hear! I'm getting a lazy townie vibe, but I guess he could be a low lying killer that's trying not to make waves.

Big case on Karosis. No takers except the killers who agree with you and help out town with a NK of Karosis. Slick.

View PostRashan, on 24 May 2012 - 07:43 PM, said:

Well considering the fact that I AM town it makes YOU seem quite a bit more scummy to ME.

My top choices for a lynch are Amp and Korbas, but I prefer Amp. I'm finding the lack of participation rather annoying. It makes me think that whatever happens will be decided in a rush, which is bad playing IMO.

Now top two are Amp and Korbas. Same as me! Wait, but no you think I'm scum :)

I'm really wondering why Karosis? Kind of an odd choice don't you all think?

Interesting to bring this up since you made a big case on him. Set up you think?

Ok, so here are my thoughts on Rashan, since I see people are not going to think about anyone else until this is resolved:

On day one, Rashan appeared to vacillate between our two primary suspects, Shelly and TS. He blatantly says he wants to get a train up and running, and then plays a "i'll go with the flow" card for the remainder of the day. All in all, a fairly bland playstyle imao. Nothing really jumps out at me as particularly scummy.

Day two, he starts getting defensive and erratic. Not right away though. He throws in one more defense of his behavior on Day 1 and then digs into Fener, picking up on Fener's nonchalance and lack of surprise at Day 1's outcome (always a favorite handle for accusing someone of being scum). He then lets go and moves to Amp after deciding Fener wasn't overall very scummy.

However, this is probably where people start having their scumdars pinged, he doesn't stick with his case and never puts down a vote. He spends much of the rest of his posts defending himself against jibes and occasionally lashing out at people such as myself. Towards the end, he's begging people to post, being chummy with me as one of the few people posting, and all in all seems to be going crazy with anxiety.

After the Day 2 no-lynch, he continues his rapid posting, however now with more content (as the pressure comes off with an new day). I'm not sure how he sees me as manipulating him into looking at Korbas and Amp, but whatever.

All in all, while I think he is playing erratically and making a lot of mistakes, the fact that both Shelly and TS died on Day 1, and that those are the only two people he examined doesn't seem to line up with him being scum (unless he is reeeeeeeeeeeally stupid, which with Malazan players I find hard to believe).

It's easy to make a case on erratic players, and as someone said, people these days rarely make a mistake in slipping up and saying they're scum. I've seen it happen only once in my time here. That all being said, I am not convinced Rashan is vote worth yet and while it may seem like I'm defending him, I'm more focused on the fact that we are quickly running out of days till D-day and every lynch is very important (>_< = yesterday).

I would like to seem some higher level analysis than I've been seeing, especially in terms of trying to get inside the killers' heads. And I still think Korbas and Amp are the best two candidates for that.

You sound very smartly with your long post sumarizing daily activities. I think it is a nice touch where the only way I can have any intelligence is if I am scum, then patting the other Malaz Mafia players on the back for being so good. An ego stroke never hurts. Would you like me to do a summary of everyone else that has changed their minds or votes throughout this game? I seem to recall a couple vote changes from D'riss as well as Korbas off the top of my head. If this were a courtroom I would object to you leading the witness(s)(ssess)(esssesssesss).

That said, I do actually think you are good enough at this that you could remain off our collective scumdars.

"sound very smartly..." sorry just had to point this out when you are talking about intelligence...

Ok, Rashan, I'm not sure what you want. Do you want me to call you scum and lynch you (is this some modified way of self-voting?)? Look, the paradigm I'm working with, based on personal experience in previous games of being scum, is that scum are not associated with their night kills, esp when the person NK'ed is already a major lynch candidate (namely Day 1's Shelly). Day 2, you made a massive case on Karosis and then Karosis died that night. Do I think that would be a scum play? No. So that is why I haven't voted for you. You don't fit and if anything, you seem like a patsy to me and are too stupid to realize it. So no, you aren't scum. They are having fun with you, and you are playing into their hands. Good job.

One other thing before I finish lunch: I have noticed that people have nibbled at the idea that Korbas is scum, but not so much so that they are willing to give up the more popular suspects. So here, I am changing my vote to Amp, who I also think is very scummy, and hopefully a lynch on him will lend credance to my stance about Korbas:

For the sake of stirring things up a bit, I will move my vote to Ampelas. If we lynch him and he CFs inno, though, I'm going to be crusading hard for a Rashan lynch tomorrow, as I still think he's a shifty bugger!

LOL well I guess I overestimated you dearie if you can't understand sarcasm.

When did I ask you to call me scum *quckly rereads* nope that never happened.

Massive case against Karosis? If you reread what I posted, you'll see that I was bored and so analyzed some one to see if I could find anything else out there, in summary: I thought he was a lazy townie. You can deliberately misinterpret what I wrote all you like, I guess THAT'S why you chose to nk him, you figured you could try and blame me for it.

So you and Telas think that if you throw your votes on Amp you can coax me into voting for him? I'm not going to bite. If you manage to get a lynch it will be without me on that one.

This, for me, is hands down the scummiest post in the game so far.

First of all, the vote is totally out of character. After some first day annoyance over Shelly, Telas has been Rashan this and Rashan that. There has been no hint that Telas is a player who votes simply to "stir things up". The appearance is as if he hasn't really given a thought to Amp. Yet he votes him anyways over something as flimsy as "stirring things up". Not only failing to really justify the vote, the main thrust of the post is still at Rashan. From an inno point of view, this post doesn't make any sense to me.

So does this post make sense in the context of Telas as scum? Well, the case leveled at Telas contains a connection between Telas and Amp. If Telas is scum, and Amp is NOT, this post and vote change smacks of an opportunistic move by Telas. If Telas is scum, and Amp is not his partner, Telas of course knows Amp is inno. He's been waiting for an excuse to vote Ampelas, because if Amp is lynched and turns up inno, that erases the connection to himself and effectively takes a source suspicion away from Telas. It also gives the illusion that Telas is innocent and can vote for anyone because "of course" he doesn't have a partner.

The post, other than the vote, is primarily a dig at Rashan. "Crusading hard" for Rashan the next day reads to me like a more subtle "setting up the next day's lynch" than what Galain did on day 1. See, once the Amp/Telas connection is dead, that should make it easier to push a Rashan lynch. Day 4.... getting down to the wire.

It is now Day 3. There are 13 hours and 41 minutes left in the day. The Timer is now FROZEN!

There are 9 players left: Ampelas, Anomandaris, D'riss, Fener, Galain, Korbas, Rashan, Telas, Thyrllan

5 votes required for a lynch, 5 to go to night.

1 vote Rashan (Thyrllan)
2 votes Anomandaris (Korbas, Rashan)
2 votes Ampelas (Anomandaris, Telas)
1 vote Telas (D'riss)

Players not voting: Ampelas, Fener, Galain
Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

aw man, I hate weekend freezes in the middle of the day!

I don't like the way Telas has suddenly turned on me. yesterday he thought I was inno, and at this stage I still think we are likelier to get a Rashan lynch. so his change of heart makes me think that he is worried about his position. if he knows that I am inno he can expect that my inno cf might clear him of some suspicion too.

heh, well, when I said I wanted to stir things up, I didn`t really think... I certainly didn't mean to act scummy, I can assure you that I am not a killer, but hey, who is going to take my word right? Seriously though, I was just trying to stir things up, there hasn't been much gameplay at all from a few people, and I was hoping to get some people to do something. At any rate, if you all end up lynching me, and you find out that I am, in fact, inno, you should look at Rashan. :)

your justification doesn't really make sense. there have been plenty of votes for me over the last few days. if you had wanted to stir things up why didn't you offer a different alternative?
