Basic Setup

PS password = turbulent

Town Roles:

Emperor - The emperor (their alt) is known by everyone. They cannot be lynched, cannot be killed, and cannot be recruited. (Basically, this is the Fener role from twelve's game, except here the role is head of the Town, not the scum to be removed).

The emperor has no personal powers, but can still use what influence he has on others to accomplish certain goals. Once a night, the emperor can give a power to one of his vassals. He has 5 one-time powers to give. 2 vigs, 2 finds, 1 anti-recruit 'heal'. These are "one-time" powers so for example the vassal does not become a finder, but receives a one-off find. The player receiving the power will be informed via PM. They may not use their power on the same night they receive it, but may use it beginning the following night or they may save it for later.

Scum cannot receive these powers. The emperor will not be informed of success or failure of the giving out of these powers. Only one power can be awarded to a single player.

Minister of the Left

The most powerful minister under the Emperor, the Minister of the Left can choose one target nightly. That target cannot be recruited. They may not target themselves.

It takes two recruit attempts to recruit the Minister of the Left.

Minister of the Right

The second most powerful minister under the Emperor, The Minister of the Right can choose one target nightly. That target cannot be recruited. They may not target themselves.

It takes two recruit attempts to recruit the Minister of the Right.

Minister of the Center

It takes two recruit attempts to recruit the Minister of the Center.

Scum roles:

There are 3 competing scum teams, each starting with a single player with the exact same power.

Primary Recruiter:
In order to gain influence within the imperial palace, recruiters will attempt to bring imperial ministers into their 'camp'.

Once a night, they can attempt to recruit a player. They will receive one of 3 messages at the end of the night - Success, Partial-success, Failure.

The Primary Recruiter cannot be recruited by other scum teams.

Secondary Recruiter

The first player recruited by the Primary becomes the successor to the Recruiter. If the Primary dies, the Secondary can continue recruiting.

The Secondary Recruiter cannot be recruited by other scum teams.

High Recruit

The second player recruited by the Primary (or Secondary).

It takes two attempts for another scum team to recruit the High Recruit. (partial success on first try)

Cannot inherit recruit ability.

Low Recruit

Any recruit after the second to be recruited by the scum team.

It only takes one attempt to draw away the Low Recruit by another scum team.

Cannot inherit the recruit ability.


Secondary Recruiter learns the identity of the Primary. All recruits after the Secondary recruit learn only the name of the person recruited before them.

CF's will include the following information in addition to alt/player - "Minister +Title", "Bribed Minister +Title", "Recruiter". In the case of the Secondary recruiter, if they die before they inherit, they CF as "Bribed Minister +Title". If they die after inheritance they CF as "Bribed Recruiter +Title" .

Clarifications for specific situations:

If two recruiters target the same person in the same night before Day 5, the recruit attempt fails for both. If it is Night 5, the recruit will go to the first person to submit the recruit action.

If a person is recruited and they possess an ability given by the emperor, they are allowed to keep the ability but MUST use it or lose it the following night.

What Karosis said here also made me uneasy. Going for someone who seems non-committal, not someone who hasn't posted but someone who is not making waves? It is day one. Day one generally does not see very many strong cases and it can be understandable then why people are non-committal, many are even though they vote a certain player on day one. I'm not saying non-commital players do not warrant attention but I think that they become more apparent and more likely to be scum or role later in the game. On day one it can be a combination of not much to comment on, weak cases and time constraints. I think going after that on day one makes it just as likely to hit town.


eh, snipping my former post, I think I went a little overboard, as last vet's game was still on my mind a bit, and that was a special situation.

Generally I dislike (as Karosis does) the tendency to let day 1 slide, to find nothing bad in non-committal behaviour etc. Only gives places for scum to hide, doesn't benefit town.

Now here OE (and someone else later one) even advocate that non-commital players should be alone, as scum is usually "more enthusiastic about the game". this approach minimizes the possible information on the thread and should be abandoned.

It's not to save your own ass, it's to provide information to the town. Shake a few trees and see what falls out. Otherwise there's no way people are going to be able to form opinions about the 20 other players in the game. There are going to be terrible cases on Day 1, it's a fact of life. But if there are 10 to choose from rather than 1, there's more chance that one of them will actually be right. So throw some dirt against the wall and see what sticks rather than just sitting back and accepting the inevitable.

And there is some Action! Maybe I need to take back some of what I said earlier.

Tendentially, I would agree with Atrahal's evaluation of Okaros' Post, btw. And I dont get what Tennes finds so immensely contributory about it.

Anyone else noted the scum slip of Gamelon, where he commented that he liked the Emperor-role, and said something like "I am worried town might be led by him"? :(

So, as of right now Atrahal (Khell) will join Gamelon (King Lear) as the games first and only recruit. The other two are sticking with Liosan, which means their recruit fails. Let's see how they play that....

No indication from Sil yet as to whom she wishes to give a power.

How can be Karosis be such a huge distraction it needs lynching (btw, this argument always sucks)
And because some very few players also play "erratic" when they are scum, suddenly erratic=scum ? (Atrahal analysis this correctly, imho)

And thread leader=scum, too? ("I think he tries to control the thread, so must be scum")

I sure don't get this metagame. How they can lynch karosis here is beyond me. Atrahal+Rashan are playing a nice game so far, shame that they can't/dont try hard enough to prevent the karosis lynch. Silanah also shifted her vote too fast.
