@Gryllen
I really like that one that's just a multi-use flat-deck. Cool!
@Mac
Shit son. Those are some serious machines! My eventual tractor will be nowhere near that big.
@Kurt
I do use a blower to clear the driveway now and I am well used to getting multiple face shots on every blow (that one is too easy...hurr hurr). I'm looking for a 2WD one so the chains will be a must, I agree. Dunno about the various filters and all that junk, but I'm sure I'll get an earful and a half from my dad's buddy about it.

FUCK YEA. I OWN A TRACTOR
Seriously though....fuck yea.
Tires were pretty rotten and one brake was a bit spongy, but both are serviceable for the immediate future. Steering linkages were good, no major leaks of any oily fluids, good radiator, Started at -18degC (and its a diesel) and no major deterioration in the form of rust.
I got tire chains, a 5' bucket, a 3' bucket and the machine, delivered for $4650
Hopefully it will arrive sometime next week and then it's DRIVE YOUR TRACTOR AROUND THE YARD ALL DAY, DAY!!!!

Buddy that knows about tractors took me out to his farm after where he has a slightly newer version (basically identical with more power) of the same machine. I was out happying around in the snow for a half-hour or so. I can see why so many farmers I know are so chill. If your job was to head outside and drive around on a tractor every day, all stress would disappear.

I grew up on a farm and we had multiple tractors over the years, and you cannot find a more versatile piece of equipment- unless you go miliatary. Congratulations on the purchase; I am jealous. One other fun use for tracors is driving in parades- have fun.

I was thinking more along the line of tractor pulls...but I dunno if a 1960s piece of equipment will be up for that.
Parades will have to do...and taking my kids to their proms.

You should take it off some sweet ramps.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

My dad's buddy said as much about Kubotas, but adjective he used was "faggy".
Which is sweet, cause another buddy just financed a brand spakin new kubota and is super proud of it. Not for long, friend...not for long.

IT'S HERE OH MY GOD IT'S MOTHERFUCKING HERE!!!!!
Seriously stoked. I just drove it around the yard with the biggest, stupidest, most blissful grin I could muster.
The only sad part is I have to refrain from going around digging shit until I can get the filters and fluids changed, but after that, IT'S ON DIRT. I AM GOING TO DIG THE SHIT OUT OF YOU.

Whats the deal with that front bucket? Does it come apart to get rid of those spikes? Cause those are not going to help move dirt (good for chasing down intruders tho')
Edit: for carrying hay, I bet

Those spikes are used for shoveling cow shit around.
They also help when breaking through hard layers like clay. They don't help hold anything up, but they do assist with digging. Kinda like you see on the shovel of an excavator
That whole piece can indeed come off though. I got a much bigger bucket too...a 5' long one with a nice cutting edge on it, though the mounting brackets for it are in the wrong spot (it was off a different tractor) so I have to get new ones welded on.
Had a wonderful time lapping the house this morning after I figured out how to start the damn thing in the cold.

He's an engineer. I'm pretty sure they get a complimentary welder when they graduate.
