So says Baruk to Kruppe in the prolog. Book finally came today and I can't remember exactly what or who the circle entailed. I remember it was GotM and the whole Kruppe/Eel thing and Circle Breaker was Kruppe's agent and it had something to do with the city council, but I can't remember exactly what Circle Breaker did or why or who else was involved. Any memory refreshers would be appreciated.

THe circle represents the circle of perfect leadership or something like that. If you remember Circle Breakers post was at Despots Barbicum it makes sense Kruppes most loyal agent was guarding it as it was a remnant of the Tyrant age. So the Torrud Cabal and Kruppe were trying to keep the circle broken so the Tyrant didnt return.

Its been like 4 years since I read GOTM but doesnt Kruppes final letter to Circle Breaker sign off like 'the circle is mended be at peace my friend' or something like that?

I'm pretty sure the circle is the stones that were powering the dome over Majesty Hill...destroying them destroyed the Tyrants protective shell. Remember they were in a perfect circle...Spindle saw the tools being used to create it and they were very precise
So, you're the historian who survived the Chain of Dogs.
Actually, I didn't.

It seems you stand alone.
It was ever thus.
