I know yeah, every single night I have tried to kill you but yet you keep on coming and staying alive. Some bulletproof you have there. You must be important, or in the alliance. I did think I was going to die last night, but I am valuable to whoever wants me. Right now i'm sided with whoever wants my vote. It may come down to it, yet it may not. At least I am a known quantity. You Fener are not. You have, at the most two people backing you. Unless your alliance members are also. You would be a great lynch for at least half of the players out there, whatever faction you are on.

Vote Fener

NOOOOOOOOO dont do that please! Karat your faction cant win!!!!!

Hey Taps. Is your game next? I may have a friend who wants to play, but I'd rather start him on an easy game.

Come on Khell. Recruit Tattersail don't lynch him. You need him to have a shot at winning. Also don't realign with the Fuji because that will just hasten your teams death.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Yeah is it because I'll sign myself up right now. If not I have a game that I could run if I could get a co-mod to cover the large stretches of time that I can't be online, someone in the Euro time zones would be prefereable.

Here is an alternate senario where Ashikaga doesn't need Tats. The alliance doesn't get continued, Tats gets lynched, Fener recruits Olar again and Olar heals Fener and Shelly heal Kesso and The Dude (Korv) tries to recruit either one of his people or Tia or Kesso kills Kor and then the Ashikaga will be in the driver seat.

What? Too many ifs?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Ok, So after a thurough re-read here are my thoughts on teams: I know I haven't been recruited from because I am the only team to have been in an alliance all game.

Fuji: Korv, Fener, Merrid, Korlat, Olar

Ashikaga: Tiam, Shelly, Liosan, Osseric.

Temeaki: Gaylord, Atrahal, Shadow, Omtose

Uesuagi: Eloth, Tulas Shorn, Kesso, Olar

Muira: Okaros, Karatallid, Silanah, Sorrit

Feel free to laugh at me. in SH :(

So NA:

If TS is Fuji, Promote Olar Ethil. If TS isn't Fuji, Recruit Shadow.

I don't think I can have a night alliance as there are only 2 leaders left.

for tomorrow,

Continue Day alliance with Ashikage

Fener has a point.

Sigh...PS error. Shelly should not have been recruited night 2 by the Ashikaga due to the Takeda Open alliance (Ashikaga were not aligned at the time).

Well, the game goes on...

What???????

My game won't be next. If I had to put a % on it, it is around 45% ready.
I have all abilities and roles I want to use on paper but the economy needs to be much more balanced than last time, which proves a real challenge.
I know it is only a second test-run, but where game 0.33 was mostly a test of mechanics, 0.66 is a test of the economy and I should aim for only minor adjustments afterwards. As such, I have to decide on what goods I am going to use and how much access to provide to them, and I have to look at costs and pricing so that everyone has a near equal chance to get stuff done.

All in all, it isn't so much designing a mini but providing a blueprint for the entire game series. You don't want to see the sheer amount of spreadsheets I have on my pc, really (or rather, if you saw them, you'd A) despair (and perhaps rejoice) and B.) be excluded from the entire game series).
Everyone is entitled to his own wrong opinion. - Lizrad

Hmm, alright.

Well, Twelve you can run your game or I can run an altless. Whichever works. I haven't finished it yet, but I doubt it would be challenging to do so before this game ends.

Oh wow, this set up is really awesome.

Not much opposition on that vote. Maybe Theblindsapper reacted the way he did because we lynched the daddy of PEN? :(

Either way, if the "middling generals" or "second in commands" exist, we got one with Silanah.

Miura Yoshimoto was the son of Miura Yoshiatsu, which would probably make him a 2nd in command type.

Shin, you're the master, btw. Yoshimoto did indeed kill himself by self decapitaiton during the storm of Arai castle. The Hojo did the storming in that situation, which isn't happening in our universe here. I bet Shin just wanted to get that self decapitation bit in their for the S&G's.

People should really do a better job with provisional actions. Waiting for night to time out is boring.

Before I found out you were JLV, you were very close to being on my hit list for next game :) The PEN flock will be defended (unless they are on a team opposite of mine... :D )

How come? I didn't do nothin.

Hmm, I think I've spotted a big flaw in my setup. I will owe some apologies. I'm not sure why this didn't occur to me, but Spearman get sort of a bunk role compared to others (well, it IS better than RI), but the BS part is they cannot be recruited. I did that while thinking strictly about balance, but it means poor JLV and ansible are now doomed since they cannot even end up on the winning team by recruitment chance. Their only option to win, was to win with their first team. Yes, it's the same for leaders, but they get more cool stuff to do in the meantime.

It was way too fun to not know anything, make a list day 2 which were lynched (in order) days 2, 3 and 4, and not get any of my own team lynched. I felt pretty accomplished, despite losing horrible.

Haha! I did terribly! Flaming nearly everyone, flamboyantly blustering while not knowing what was going on.And it was so much fun doing so...

But, that said, I am a newb. Maybe I'll learn from this. Probably not, though.

Heheh.

Don't worry, I'm still awful. But it's SO ADDICTING.

View PostAzathmaster, on 27 January 2012 - 10:25 PM, said:

Nah not offended at all by rants i was wondering how hed respond as well as not reading closely enough. Im a little flattered that he went to such lengths to help a newb out. Not scared away either, but someday, vengy will be venged. I did act quite errattic that game. Would have been perfect symping if my leader had come under fire, but alas he did not.

Up and coming DKT here? Easiest player to alt in the game? :p

Tulas Shorn, on 28 January 2012 - 02:35 AM, said:

Shadow could be the dude.

That's flattering.

On being a spearman:

It didn't bother me at all. I actually thought it was fun to figure out what was going on. I'm not particularly good, and I didn't figure out who was on my team at all. My strategy was to symp by trying to get people lynched who I'm certain are NOT my team. I did a pretty good job with that, at least.

So I think it was a good role, but I'm no good at finding my team even when I know my leader. It would have been easier, but I had fun with this role.

And I don't mind about the non-recruity thing. I never win. I'm 1 for 8 or something. Last game I won was Sengoku Ch1, as Ashikaga Masamoto.

@JLV: I'm going to try to be a bit less erratic/random/vote-hopping/irrationally suspicious next game. Though knowing me I probably will be pretty easy to alt. But you never know. This is mafia after all!Posted Image

You have the same tells as Dk. Spelling/grammar and ending with emotes.

the spelling and grammar is because I played mostly off of my phone and the emotes are there just because. Those tells might be useful if we're both in the same game and someone with a grudge against DKT could be confused and not sure which of us to NK/ lynch.

Wait. Its OK if starling gets lynched shes Fuji my bad but Korvs BP is still there and if hes lynched and OE/starling is lynched then its 2v3v1v1v0 and Ashikaga can win easily. (Or 2v4v1v1v0 if Karatallid gets recruited.)

HOLY REVEAL FEST BATMAN!!!!!!!! The game just got interesting very quickly. Though with the reveal fest I think that Fuji can get a lynch before everyone else.

Also

No!!!!! Don't switch to Olar/Starling Stick with Korv/THe Dude. Hopefully Shelly can heal Fener to keep Korlat from killing him. This should be an interesting finish to the game. I forsee a high body count in the days/night to come and a lot of switching back and forth.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I think this game will be decided by who gets the first 5 votes in either the Fuji or everyone else. Though with Tia and Korlats long absense to the forum we could be in for a long wait. I think that Tias best hope is a draw as he can't win but everyone else still has a shot at winning. HOpefully he will want to at least work towards that and not just want the game over and side with the Fuji.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Sweet!!! Deals and promises with potential betrayals affoot. This is how end game in a Merc game should be played out. It makes for some great reading.
