Mind, I'm probably going to end up looking like a tard cause I have no idea what I'm really asking for...but whatevs.
Regardless of the OS they have installed, if it can run Java, the minecraft server file will work. The windows one is pretty straightforward, though I haven't messed with it much. Linux is way more common cause it usually adds about 10 bucks a month to a VPS if you use a proprietary OS.
I'm sure if they can make an account I can log into remotely, I can handle it from there.

If you're confident that it could still happen, don't worry about it. I'm not rushing to shut down and have no problem leaving it running for Feb while we sort things out. In fact I checked my billing cycle and I think it comes due about halfway through Feb....so I'm paid up til then regardless.
