Here is the link. The section with Steve starts around 8 minutes in, and the converstation is very interesting. They talk about the influence of the Iliad on the MBotF, how the series was born out of heartbreak, and other such topics.

I really enjoyed listening to that,

I especially liked when he talks about inconsistencies (timeline). The explanation of why they are there and how he compares it to the Iliad.

The part about GRRM and the TV series was good also.

Cheers for the link Stalker

Wow. That was amazing stuff. I'm gonna find another of your posts so I can give you another thumb.

Hey guys! I'm glad you enjoyed the interview. It really was an honor to chat with Steve about some deeper elements behind his work.

I registered my account last night and I was going to post the link, but I got distracted. I'm glad someone beat me to it.

Is the interview safe to listen to for those who have not yet finished the series, or are there some spoilers. Just wanted to know before inadvertantly ruining the series for myself.

A plea for compassion? The cipher for the series? The reader takes the Hero's Journey?

MIND = BLOWN.

Haha yeah, I was studying for some exams (AKA no MW3 or skyrim day) and took a browse the internet break. Which then lead to an interview break too.

@Moses- great interview, thanks. Probably the best one I've seen or heard.

I want to point out that all of this is present in his non-fantasy book "This River Awakens", deeply connected with the Malazan series.

I've written a review here: http://loopingworld....-river-awakens/

It's an amazing book.

Seriously, thanks for bringing that to us, rep for you

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Somehow I usually don't listen to podcasts, but now I'm enjoying this one on my headphones.

Definitely. Thanks for the good comment in your review that gave me something to play with. If it hadn't been over my head the first time, I wouldn't have needed to ask him that. LOL!
