HAAAA ...as a side note, just as I posted that last one, my child come up to me and points to the screen and says "It's Mommy!!!" ...now if only I was SURE he was talking about the top pic and not the bottom one....(of course I have no idea what he is thinking...I look nothing like EITHER!)

Phere, I think that might count as a spoiler of MOI, however minor.

Fixed, very sorry about that...this is the first time I've ever joined a forum for a book series lol...I will do my best to remember not to inadvertently post spoilers...I'm so embarrassed.

No biggie, it was actually very minor/borderline, it's just good to error on the side of caution IMO.

Iskaral Pust is a darker-skinned version of that crazy dude from In Search of the Castaways.

Sorry I couldn't find a clearer image, but if you've seen the movie, you know exactly why I picture him as the character...

I've never seen it, but that does bring to mind the old man and his wife from The Neverending Story, who help groom the luck dragon. Make them black and voila!

Coltaine : Olivier Chabal ... I am certain you never heard that name, so allow me to link to a picture of him :

http://www.espnscrum...ayer/13317.html

He is tall (as Coltaine), muscular, move on the pitch like a felin, he is a warrior AND a soldier (mean able to fight alone, able to follow tactic, able to draw tactic).

futhermore, as Coltaine, he is a man of few words, and he is know to hide very well (so well that himself forget wer it ws hideen) he does have a brain behind a thick skull.

Futhermore, the lovely french accent (yeah yeah, the young lady last night told me I indeed have it myself) will introduce a level of exotism the US public would love, will cut cost for the french version (he shall be able to play his part, with another accent...).

Half joke, and half serious (several rugbymen turned to be good secondary actors).

Altrnatively, I would suggest as Bult Eric Cantona, he would definitively be great at the very minimum when confronted with Mallick Rell (you are an errant boy, dismiss!) and the exotism of the accent is assured also

I'm having a hard time picturing the Elder Races with the Tiste Andii as an exception.

Icarium could be an Orc tho...

Does anyone know of any artwork that's been made?

And also, I'd like to point out that I'm Belgian, yet i'm reading these books in English to keep mistranslations and such from marring the overall experience.
Although, deciphering SE's prose can be quite the challenge at times, I'd like to think I'm managing ;)

There's some pretty awesome artwork all over this forum. Somewhere there's a thread with art from the Subterranean Press edition of DG, including this pic of Icarium and Mappo. (Although I wouldn't go searching for that thread if you haven't finished the book, because the cover contains a massive spoiler.)

that's a great pic, but i always thought that icarium's tusks were much smaller than mappo's. here they're about the same size. also, icarium's sword has one edge.

Whenever I picture Kruppe, I can't help but picture the paunchy Arab guy in Raiders of the Lost Ark, the one who had a monkey and caught the date out of the air before Indy ate it.

For Felisen, I just saw Red Riding Hood last night, and Amanda Seyfried totally fits my mental picture of her.

I imagine Kruppe as this guy:

Bwuahahaha... I actually saw him as Zero Mostel. Specifically his look from A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum. I may have to adjust me own image a title now.

I had the same image, would be spot on!
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.
