Has anyone plotted out how races/people/warrens fit in with the Holds? Or does this get explained better later (like how the Deck of Dragons has slowly been populated with people as we get to know them (Karsa, etc)).
Anyway, there's ton of them, they are confusing, and I sure hope they are explained better/melded with the Deck/gods/warrens better.

From what I remember from first read, I'm thinking the following

Beast hold has two rulers meaning the two wolves on the beast throne ? (though this is a problem, since in the timeline I'm pretty sure this had NOT happened yet)
But somehow the Tlan Imass are involved? I guess the WERE involved in the beast throne... Confusing

Azath hold- don't really understand this yet. I'm certain it will come later

Dragon Hold- Something to do with Eleint Soletaken/ Anomander/ Silchas Ruin. Don't know much more

Ice Hold- This is Jaghut. From the big Tilecasting Feather Witch did, it seems like, despite Tlan Imass efforts, the entire Hold is alive and kicking? Surprising.

Empty Hold- I have no idea what this is supposed to be

The Pack- The Jheck god. But what are the Jheck?

The Errant- Bugg says they are the manifestation of the Forkrul Assail--yet then who is Turudal Brizad, whose "push/pull" and "many names" makes me think he's supposed to be a God we recognize (Oponn comes to mind)?

White Crow- HUNH? That was NEVER resolved.

Fire- Tlan Imass

Dolmen- Old sea gods? Sounds like, from the end, that this is Mael's realm

Axe- Eres was the goddess of one of those tribes... but I don't see the relevance. But what really intrigued me was that one of her names is N'eres. Which I immediately noticed is Seren spelled backwards.

If you do a bit of searching I am sure you will come across some pretty comprehensive threads on the suspected connections between this and that.

Generally speaking, chronologically, there was a time of wandering, then came the holds and later on came the Houses. The Holds and the tiles, just like the Houses and the deck, were an imposition of order on the powers of the world. When the Elder races faded, the gods died, were trapped or faded away, a new era arised where the deck supplanted the tiles.

The Wolves of Winter are very old. They remember a time before the Elder times. They are among a whole hosts of gods and ascendants and elder beings that the mortal races of the Elder Times worshipped, one of those peoples were the Imass.

Inactive, since the sealing of Starvald Demelain. Basically, the dragons are banished, and so the tiles are dormant.

The Ice hold is simple a representation of the power of Ice and Omotose Phellack. Just because the hold is inactive does not mean that the elemental power or the world itself disappears. If you recall, in MoI, Panion becomes a guardian of Omotose Phellack and the warren/hold/realm is merged with Burn to protect the warren and help Burn fight her fever.

It is a representation of an absence. I honestly cannot remember the details but you will get more information about that hold in later books. Kind of an RAFO subject.

A soletaken tribal people who's ancestors were kicking around during the First Empire. The Imass did not have a monopoly on Soletaken magics.

The Elder God called the Errant and Brizad are one and the same. He has simply chosen to take up a mortal life among the Letherii court.

He was once a much more powerful God that was worshipped far and wide. Among those worshippers were Forkrul Assail. They worshipped his aspect. There are similarities between what the Errant does and Oponn, but there is also a difference. RAFO what that is about.

The white crow is Silchas Ruin. Dun dun duuuun. Now try and guess who or what the Owls represent.

Then I'm not sure I'm supposed to know what the white crow is yet....

For what it's worth, Bugg's true identity is the first thing I've predicted correctly in these books so far. Missed on a bunch of big ones....

Oh. I hope I didn't spoil you there. I seem to recall the identity/meaning was revealed during his appearance at the end of MT? Ah, well. It becomes clear from the start in the next Lether book.
