I thought you did a pretty good job of being the leader actually. You were able to use the support of your team pretty well to add force to your arguments. Even though by mid-game almost everyone thought you were a leader, no-one could act on it because you were deflecting onto others so well.

I was really kicking myself when I got to SH about not going after you more strongly on Day 1 (if you can remember that far back ). I didn't put enough faith in my own reasoning, sadly, and let you off the hook. I'm not sure I'd have won given that you would have had plenty of defenders, but I'd have illuminated the Xia faction and things would probably have gone very differently.

That took an age to catch up on, really interesting though, had a few good laughs .

Lots of fun was had, really amazing game D'rek.

I'm glad we went with our suspicions and voted of Obdi, all that talk of double duels when he couldn't have lost against Dkt tut tut .

Really great game all, Ment your power on thread was amazing, and also very useful for a small faction to hide amosgst, same goes for JA and the trains he directed. It's amazing how one or two tiny changes would have totally altered the game, like HP and I not dueling. Really interesting stuff.

Yeah well my goal was to ferrett out everyone not Xia and march all over creation killing them but since you flatly refused to kill anyone in our capital I wasn't able to do that. Though I was still the most successful night action killer of the game. JLV, Tattersail and myself. I'm still kicking myself on how I played that last night action. I was still thinking Xia but I still should have asked Kesso to guard Korlat so I could attack either Tennes or Barghast.

I bet if I hadn't screwed myself with that duel that night I bet Telas would have recurited Korlat and then it would have been a whole different game. Oh so close.

Yeah, I had realised by the end that Korlat was the only option, but I was going to be lynched anyways alas. If Kesso hadn't guarded me when I tried to recruit her the first time things might've been different too.

Also, my idiocy has once again inadvertently helped me immensely:

Had I been able to fully articulate my suspicion that our roles this game were dependant on our roles in the previous Rot3K games (such as me being made Yuan Tan due to my horrific performance as Yuan Shao in the battle of Han Dong), i'd have been far more certain that dkt was Gongsun Zan. Leading me to eliminnate him with prejudice, thus alienating the votes of himself, Mott, and Morgy, who were all trying to use my ignorance to hide in the ranks of the Xia.

while I was fully aware of this the day after we lynched Venge, (thouhg I admit some lingering doubts about Dkt), it really did not matter to me who was actually xia or not. as long as I could use their votes to turn onto other suitable targets, their true allegiance was irrelevant-- a fact some of my more vocal minions (such as twelve) could not get over.

the above saying doess nothing to detract from the fact that as far as the classical "how to lay a merc game leader" textbook is concerned I was an absolute moron for the first 2 and a half days. I got cuaght in a day 1 case for RPing, and would've had a hard time extricating myself if more people were not willing to speak up and line themselves up to take my spot.

in my defence, everyhting I said about RL on Day 3 was true. and I hope that my performance and participation Day 3 onwards makes up for that abyssmal failure in the eyes of my teammates.
