If you could produce a soundtrack for the Crippled God from all the genres of music available without infringing copyrights. :ice: Which songs would you choose for which scenes?? Would it be classical, rock, metal, pop, emo, downtempo, ska, electronic, etc...? A mash-up??

Correction: what music would you use if copyright didn't matter?

Without infringing copyright? Classical is really the only choice in that case.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

I'd do a different genre for each plot thread, and have individual themes for each major character and when the plot-threads come together it'd be fusion genres between the two and the major themes would get subverted when characters die and-

Screw it, I'd just use the final fantasy 6 soundtrack

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

I've just finished reading TCG and recently I've been listening to a heap of Portugal. The Man. In particular the new album. I found that songs like: When the War Ends, Sleep Forever, Got it All and People Say really suited the flow of the book and in particular the glorious battle scenes towards the end of the book.

I understand that these songs couldn't be used without infringing copyright.

Perhaps open this up a little bit and allow for any band, artist, genre.

I read another post which suggested a few 30 Seconds to Mars songs might suit certain parts.

I'm pretty sure OP did mean you could use any song without the threat of being in trouble for copyright infringement...not challenging people to avoid copyrighted songs.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Right, I had assumed as much, but then read a few further comments and got confused.

I was listening to Primordial's album Redemption at the Puritan's Hand while reading TCG. Went very well together, especially "No Grave Deep Enough," "Bloodied Yet Unbowed," the title song, "Lain with the Wolf," "The Mouth of Judas," and "Death of the Gods."
Laseen did nothing wrong.

I demand Telorast & Curdle plushies.

Orchestral/ Film Score music with some folk music for certain scenes and maybe a tad bit of ambient tunes. As much as i love metal (its my favorite genre) i don't think it fits really well into a fantasy series, although they work great with tribute and compilation videos for movies/series.

To get away from the epic and classic scores, I offer up just a single simple "pop/chart" song for the build up scene's between Fiddler and Hedge on the way to "that hill".

Better Days - Dermot Kennedy.

Dubstep.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.
