Question about Moby

Assuming I've understood this correctly, Moby makes an appearance at Sormo E'nath's ritual and fights off all the D'ivers, before returning to Crokus all bloodied. What was the motivation behind this?

he's watching the progress of the path of hands maybe?. as a soletaken he's aware of it after all, and maybe he really wanted to take the throne he thought was there. turned out it was an azath guardianship instead. i don't know why the timing was that way, but maybe he could tell that some humans had gone astray on the path, and being of a helpful sort, decided to take time out of his busy monkey day to be a demon

There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.

Yes and he may also have been a Familiar to Crokus' uncle Mammot from GoTM. So all in all a loving/caring and sensitive (to humans at least) Soletaken ...
