EDIT nice move BTW Obdigore. Attacking and evading in the same move. Gotta love the knights for that.

There are 3 good moves, 2 of them are better than the other but all 3 work well at the moment.

most obviously, it's allowing him to castle

I'm curious, do people think we should take the bishop?

There are 3 moves related to our knights, all of which should be considered.

One involves ignoring his knight and bishop. One involves setting up for next turn related to those two, and the third involves striking now.

I would caution against striking now, as that seems the weakest of our current moves.

I think I see the moves you're talking about, we should set up the counter.

This isn't a decisive enough position for us to commit to quite yet.

Fun times. Personally, I don't see why we can't talk strategy here. Sure, several of us may have a better grasp of chess than others, and sure, CF can read up on what we think, but that advantage isn't as big as it is made out to be anyway - if he's better than the ones discussing the move, he'll have seen it and knows how to counter, if he's not as good, it makes the game more interesting.

Decision now is whether to start an exchange (Kd7 x e5, Kf3 x e5) looks at first sight to be in our advantage and gives us a chance to link bishops.

On the other hand, if we let him castle, then we now have two moves for development, or one for development and another for attack. Bringing the second bishop C8 into play is important, so it seems logical to move Knight D7. To C5 would be the more aggressive option as bishop d3 would have no other choice than retreat. Any exchange there will free his Queen but will also bring him into a situation where his own pawns block his entire centre and the A-C rows will be all over place.

Anyway, using knight d7 seems logical and aggressive. More passive would be b7-b6 (or b5, I guess, but that closes off bishop c8-a6), while still advancing our position.

Edit: Knight f6-g4 is no option, imho. Way too easily countered and it does nothing for our board position in the long run.

So you guys going to move or what?

One of the beauties of this game is that nobody *actually* has to wait for consensus, nor willl they be denied future moves if they happen to screw up.

Mebbe it would help for you to put your actual move in bold so I can tell when you are manning up and when you are just sniveling and conniving.
