i embraced the spotlight? riiiiight....
simply because i have more time ot play, and have a higher post count does not mean I "embrace the spotlight"
on the contrary, I've facilitated discussion. we've had a number of days when we have a lot of close trains. ofc, as always in mafia, when theat happens, we also have the "we need alynch" syndrome, where people take too long to make u their mind, and then end up voting for whomever's leading in the race to be lynched. ..
that being said, who were the 3 useles lynches? Meanas, Omtose and Galain?
i would argue that Khell lynch wasn't useless, unless of course you are Yan.
as for Omtose and Galain, I already explained why I voted for each of those. I'm not looking for followers, a la JA.
if you think me and Silanah are doing such a poor job, what because we're on in the smae zone and we both are students and have posting time) be my guest, make a case, i'll listen.
ofc the real reason could be because you are one of the Lu stragglers and you are afraid that you might find yourself the object of one of th esubsequent trains with no one to back you up.

Personally, I find it funny how useless my ideas are, compared to others? The theory that holds the most merit usually gets the lynch.
I would love for other people to apply themselves, but, so far, almost every single person I know is NOT a barbarian has been accused of being one. It's very distressing.

You write yours, and I'll do the same. Then we hold it up to the screen on the count of 3.
Done but posted to Spoiler Heaven. I'm sure I have a number of them right. Now to put together a case that people will actually get behind... Haven't been too successful so far.

No, actually I mean everyone is doing a poor job by doing exactly what Sil is saying - bumbling along and then latching onto the convenient vote at the end.
My post wasn't meant to advocate lynches of you or silanah.
Problem is, I don't know how to proceed. I haven't come across anything I feel is case worthy*.
However, we still have Meanas selling out Tennes as being in the same location. I feel like Tennes is possible a non-Yan player in a Yan area. So I don't see why peopel were so reluctant to take this into account. IMO, Tennes is a good play for a power role/possibly non-kingdoms.
Vote Tennes

Given Meanas' big sell out post, and then the ignoring of my original Tennes vote (including a poo-pooing on behalf of everyone by Karosis) makes me more than suspicious.
If people are really sold on a Karosis vote, maybe considering his defense of Tennes (which of course he'll claim isn't a defense but rather just callign a weak case) shows that Tennes is potentially more important than Karosis.

Well that was the worst time for a lynch for me, ever.
By "too hard basket" I meant that after their confusing flurry of a conversation, a number of people went 'Eh, let's vote Galain'. Which was odd, given that there had been little mention of him previously during the day, but once Silanah (I think) made a 'pressure vote' on Galain, with 7 hours of day to go and three other options for a lynch. Then Emur votes Galain and then it's all Galain from there. Then Galain fails to be a Barbarian. I'm not completely sure that Emur was entirely unsurprised at that news. Anyway, that's my thoughts for the weekend. More or less.

Once again, it was not misunderstanding, it was mis-remembering.
Ok, I may as well pre-empt the mass free-for-all that's about to head my way…
There are currently two separate accusations being levelled at me: 1) I am a Warlord, or part of that type of faction. 2) I am an Emperor.
Now, I can prove that I am not no.1, if I have a little cooperation from a couple of my fellow players. I don't know if they're in my faction though, and I don't know if they know if I'm in their faction or not, so they may not cooperate. Anyway:
I cannot be a Warlord or part of that faction because I know that, on night 1, Tennes and Mockra were in Jiang Xia. If I was a Warlord I could not even get to a tile adjacent to Jiang Xia by night 1, so how could I know who was there? I hope that Tennes and Mockra are willing to confirm this, if for no other reason than we want to eliminate who is NOT a Warlord so we have a better chance of lynching someone who is.
However, this does of course not prove that I am not an Emperor. So:
Obviously, I am not the Lu Emperor, as Osseric was that
I am not the Xia Emperor, because I've made it perfectly plain before I have no qualms about hunting down that faction (see my suggestions that Emurlahn was part of Xia and that we should lynch him after Tiamatha, which got Emurlahn so riled up that he actually started contributing loads).
I am not the Yan Emperor, because I was all for lynching Serc before Tiamatha. If I had been the Yan Emperor, I would have known that Serc was part of my faction.
This shows that I had no real idea who was in my faction or not, only suspicions (one of which turned out to be wrong, and I think you can by now guess which one). I am what I said I was, a civil official.
I'm perfectly aware that unfortunately, I'm probably at that stage where simply defending myself, however sensible my arguments, is not going to save me. The only thing that might save me is if I present you with an even juicier target than myself.
Lynching me is still random target hunting, because you have no good proof that I am what you say I am – this is made clear by the fact that you've been guessing that I'm two completely different roles.
I can give you two options which are more certain things than lynching me: 1) Get rid of an actual Warlord; 2) Go culture hunting on the Lu faction. I'll talk about the second option first.
Look at the people who voted for me instead of Osseric. I am willing to bet that all the remaining Lu faction members (2, 3 left maybe?) are there. So who is there? Osseric (dead, Lu emperor); Tennes, Galain, Atrahal, Thyrllan, Sheltatha Lore.
Sheltatha Lore might be a good first bet because of the lateness of the vote on me, a last attempt to swing the votes away from their emperor.
As for getting rid of a Warlord…due to certain events during the last day and night I have eliminated options for a Warlord to two choices. Indeed, it's actually perfectly plausible that one of them is a Warlord and the other a Champion. I am going to look further into this, refine my case, and will then post my suspects.

I think the problem everyone has wth the tennes case is that IF Tennes was truly in Jiang Xia on night 1, then he couldn't possibly be from any other faction besides Yan, unless the Yan players totally abandonded the border towns on day 1, which seems unlikely.
People are consumed with going after the non middle kingdom players, which I think is good. That's why no one is taking him into consideration. Of course, Meanas/Mockra could have been lying. But why would they lie and make someone out to be Yan?
I like the idea of going after those not in the middle kingdoms, but we haven't been particularly good at it, so far.

I, for one, an interested in how Emur has been early onto both of teh last trains since Meanas and has had subtle followers throughout. He slipped from the spotlight early, and has embraced it over the past few days. Following Sil and Emur has yielded pretty much useless 3 kingdom lynches.
You know, personally, I wouldn't label lynching a player with two alts, or a prime minister, or an assassin, useless. They may not be the lynches you'd like, and while the Yan will mourn the loss of Khell, the Xia the loss of Venge, the Lu the loss of Kurt, each of the three factions went nonetheless two steps towards victory and one step back. Naturally, for the other three factions, there was no backlash. which puts them one foot ahead, but since they started from a (probably) numerically less strong position, it may even out.

I like the idea of going after those not in the middle kingdoms, but we haven't been particularly good at it, so far.
Two possibilities. One, Khell did out another Yan. No long term benefit whatsoever.
Or two: red herring. Khell's a smart guy, and despite his long absence, he's been absolutely terrific in the past few games. Knowing his (= Khell's) death would mean removing two Yan alts, he might have feared that the Yan would become the faction that would be seen as the one easiest to hurt or to remove from the game, thereby opening a Yan-hunt. In most faction games on this board, this is the usual tactic, even.
Thus, marking Tennes as Yan when he is not would perhaps make people lynch him. If they found out upon CF that their assumption was wrong, it might cool down the trail enough to stop any Yan-hunting, protecting his faction and hurting random faction X by removing their player.

Here's the post.
Barghast basically said it in the form of options, but what I believe is I don't think Meanas/Mockra outed a fellow Yan.

You know I hadn't thought of that. My mind is twisting.

And do you know, I constantly get confused between Tennes and Telas? Now I'm going to have to go and do some thread rereading. You bastard. I may be some time.

genetics are only good to a certain point.
mine prevent me from ever goong overboard and blanking out on what happened the night before. but the headaches.... oh, lord the headaches.
anyhow, it's nive to see thread action on the weeknd.
wrt to Tennes: Barghast outlined the possibilities quite well. I would only add that personally, I thought Khell was tossing out his emperor's name. in a bid to show his team that "i'm here, i'm yan, defend me!"
it's a bold move, since it's based on negative expectation of the other players--"no one would ever do somehtign like this!". and I believe it worked, since no one is considering Tennes seriously. and it is the kind of move i'd expect from Khell. Hell, JA based his game on that--and he had the audacity to tell me that an emperor sticking out the way he did was idiocy,

that being said, at the very least we have a known quantity in tennes, so i'm not too concerned about him.
there are still ingering unknows in all of this.
like Kaschan, who is still an absolute enigma to me.
