I think if we stop thinking along the lines of like "if the shigall just stabbed the bole with one of his raxor scythe weapons" etc. because no crap, the thing about this awesome universe, is virtually anyone who gets stabbed by weapons in the right spot tends to die. Even gods. There are certainly some that would need a bit more than a normal weapon, but even Karsa would die by a regulars word if stabbed in the right spot or two.



What makes the badasses badass is that they are able to prevent it by their prowess, either not letting the enemy get close enough, or being able to avoid attacks spectacularly, or like Kalam and QB taking down FA. Badass or no, I'm not sure Kalam beats a full blooded FA 1 v 1 , but add in QB and the misdirection....its makes it seem like the FA is nothing.



What gets me high on the boles is when the combined Rake/Dujek army attacked Coral. The boles were "all of the sudden" inside the city walls. They are more than just resistant to sorcery. What does Gothos or Raest or anyone else do when a bole is "all of the sudden" behind them punching their brains into mush?

Well, I wouldn't say stabbing in the right spot can kill just about anyone. All even Scabandari could do with a weapon to Silchas was get him into an Azath. The T'lan Imass notoriously buried Jaghut - even children - alive under enchanted boulders. Someone else didn't have to power to kill Calm so they buried her. Raest would still be A-OK after being hit with a cusser if not for the local growing Azath.

Then again, those indeed are rare examples. I'd say it's not just the stabbing and the right place, but also who does the stabbing and with what. T'lan Imass don't often get destroyed by mortals, yet on Assail they die in droves. In Stonewielder, the Stormguard can enter an undying, undefeatable state fueled by their Lady's power. Sorcerers routinely weave magic to protect themselves from blows.

As for the Boles, they're quite obviously some sort of swamp warlocks, I think someone even mentions that in the books. Like avatars of the land.
I think they'd just break their hands trying to punch someone like Rake, Gothos, Raest, Ruin or Draconus, however QB, Kallor, Avowed - I'd even hazard a guess that Brood, Envy and Spite also - could be in real trouble.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.
