Well mines up. Its weird I originally though the deadline was more than generous but naturally I and it seems almost everyone left it for the last minute.Inspired by Dresden I tried my hand at a first person narrative. I had no idea it would be so challenging. Im not really happy how it came out but I plan to pay closer attention the next time I read Dresden or similar works. Its amazing how difficult it is to keep the narrative limited to one persons view and still capture detail. I thought it would allow me to paint my characters personality quickly but I don't think I managed to make even that work. Interesting experiment though.

God, I had a lot - and I mean a LOT - of trouble with mine, not least was it not looking even vaguely competent or interesting. Then I reread this thread and saw the 500ish word limit and I cut a good half out and that made things easier. Sure, I just added it back in, but that was after I rewrote what I had kept to not be absolutely terrible. Just terrible. Oh, and if we're after names of competitors call mine Symphony.

You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
