Given that description, I have to give credit to BS for producing exactly what he said he would; and further kudos for realising, as many authors would not, that in the midst of writing AMoL and book 2 of the Way of Kings, he simply can't write the Mistborn book he really wants to, but still wants to give his fans something in the universe.

Sanderson is the Paula Deen of SF literature.

I also missed that. Any chance someone can give me a pave number?

This book is basically mashed potatoes and a pork chop that's competently done and served to a hungry audience.

Brandon likes to call it a hamburger. Either way, this thread is making me hungry...

II just started it, but i really dig the setting and how Wax thinks. I have a feeling I'm going to like this more than the Mistbirn trilogy.. And I'm super stoked for the idea of Mistbirn in the Future!

I don't think Spook needed to have a ton of kids. Anyone who survived that had noble blood would be able to pass on allomantic traits. Also, Vin gave him the earring? I think I missed that.

A lot of the names I recognized except for the name Trell. Anyone got any idea who this was? Miles mentioned him a few times.

Trell is the name of the deity in Trellism, a religion that existed pre-ascension on scadrial. mention of trell, trellism and it's doctrines as well as many other things were left behind by sazed for spooks people in the new epoch.

I finished this one recently. I like how his world is actually becoming more technologically advanced and seeing the implications this has in regards to allomancy. It was a fun to read, but not great like the Mistborn Trilogy was. Definitely looking forward to more Mistborn novels in the future.
