And a big win for the cult.

What a shock.

Yeah...you're really being helpful here.

It's Night ... no point in trying to be useful or productive. Snark is more called for.

In that case, GREAT JOB!

Davis Hyland wandered through the Trumpet, gun in hand. His mothers training clamoured to pay attention to the nooks and crannies of the spaceship, unfamiliar as it still was. And maybe Davis was too focused, for he failed to notice the gliding shadow a few meters behind him... until it was too late.

Hood's Path is dead. He was twelve and Davis Hyland of the Trumpet.

elsewhere, a smuggler was apprehended and dealt harshly with. He turned out to be chockful of Amnion gene poison.

Ruse is dead. He was Vengeance and captain Chatelaine,an Amnion

This is pretty much Ruse's only post of substance:

Well that was fun reading. Nothing like a heated discussion on the differences of day one lynches to get a lynch. I found the discussion more interesting then the train. It seemed that the perceived connection between fener and merrid was pretty minimal. I actually found eloths and Alkends combine drive to have more in common.

I guess we are waiting on the nights resolution. Oh well.

That might be too subtle but it seems like he's trying to deflect attention away from the lynch train... We know now that he was right about Merrid but he could have been using that to keep attention off Fener (which falls in with his suggestion about Eloth/Alkend).

Hi guys, sorry for the major absence yesterday, it's been a busy start of the week but I shouldn't be so bogged down for the rest of the week.

So, the good news: "captain Chatelain", according to wikipedia, is Sorus Chatelain, captain of a whole ship and a major antagonist in the last few books, so looks like that was a major Amnion role, not just the night 1 recruit getting killed the same night they get recruited.

The bad news is that Chatelain was a human working for the Amnion and doesn't seem to have anything to do with converting humans to Amnions, so Vengeance there probably wasn't the recruiting role.

Sorry for the fear-mongering

Someone hit a cultist. Or is that symp cultist? Hmm. I've got to re-read with the new info, but I need food. Will try and be back tonight, will be on early tomorrow morning if I dont make it.

I doubt there'll be any "symps" or roles that CF as different faction, that is pretty unusual for a multi-faction game without much given info. Not impossible, but I don't think it's likely, and the CF on Sorus matches the character's description from wikipedia so I have no reason to doubt it.

he probably means "symp" in the "cult member who knows the recruiter, but can't recruit himself"-type context.

much easier to just call him a cultist's symp,

Just a quick post before I head out the door.

"symp" or not, hitting a cultist is a good thing. Ruse really laid low and didn't say much, so hopefully that means he was important, although he leaves us nothing to go on. Im' not sure what Lio pointed out has much merit - the mention of the train reads more like an offhand comment to me.

Of course the other news is the trumpet team is down two early.

ok, so some general observations (obvious crap first) and then more specific

fist, i'd say that we can label merrid as the trumpet's healer, probably the only one for that team
second, i would agree that ruse proly was a symp-like roll
third, i'm actually not sure what to do with hp, RI? or was he a guard of some sort cause of the gun?

of fener and eloth, i think fener is potenitally lower on the totem pole. bluster risks the ire of other players and encourages a sooner lynch (if not the first day, then a later day). unfortunately, if he is just bulk for someone's team, he's doing them a disservice

eloth, on the other hand, pings my radar. i'm not necessarily ready to give him the title of cult, but i must say that he was baiting fener something fierce. seems like either a distraction technique or even a way to bolster his own leader positoin

and while we are on the whole fiasco of yesterday, i noticed that alkend was extremely good at whipping up action (posts 52, 67, 114) , but actually, pretty low under the radar himslef

finally, of this quick list, i would like to know more about kalse. he show's up very little, says a lot of very pithy, curt statements and i really can't say much bout him

ok, that's it for right now. i;m obviously now home for work and watching to see if anyone starts picking appart this or me

and apologies to our ladies on the thread for using only male pronouns, i'm too lazy to do that he/she stuff.Posted Image

Merrid might have been a healer, yes, but I thought it was interesting he didn't really do much to try to deflect attention from him. If I had the ability to deflect NK's from my faction members, I would have been a little more proactive attempting to prevent my lynch.

I'm trying not to read too much into possible "hidden motivations" behind Fener and Eloth's argument. It seems like they were legitimately having it out over a difference in strategy, especially since they sort of toned it down near the end and admitted some understanding of each other at least. It would be a pretty ballsy cult leader to have a major tiff like that on day one. To be honest, I had a little bit of suspicion towards you, tiam, because you came on and joined the Merrid train as the third vote, and then never showed up for the rest of the day until now.

yeah, i was of the mind that just getting that first lynch on day one and was waiting for the start of a consensus, plus i thought fener's adamance was intriguing, so i decided to prod that situation a little.

after that, it was just a pissing match between fener and eloth, and so i just waited out that nasty little storm observing closely (figured I had voted and unless there was some argument to convince me of merrid's innocence, which he didn't seem to interested in espoucing, i would just hold my thoughts until they were worth something with a day and night past, hence the timing of my previus post)

i thought the arguement pettered out because fener got sick of rantingPosted Image. whatev

re: Merrid, healer would make sense. Reading his scene he also sounded like he could prevent recruitment. Might be he could only do the latter or was a full healer (including blocking recruitment). Seems like such a role would require him to know at least 1 if not more members of his team to be useful at all, though I suppose it could be a case of his abilities only working on his teammates (healing anybody and not knowing any teammates seems very unlikely, as he'd be more likely to help the enemy than his team that way).

In any case, seems like a powerful role. HP's scene doesn't seem to paint him as being quite so powerful. The wikipedia plot summaries make Davies Hyland out to be a pretty important character, but not necessarily very powerful personally, so hard to say.

Ok, so you were waiting around for the first thing that looked like a lynch and voted for it, then lurked while other people were taking the focus onto themselves? If this was a normal game you would pretty much have admitted to being scum - I know this a faction game, but seriously?

vote Tiamatha

I was suspicious of your vote yesterday as you seemed a little too willing to just go with whatever was available. Someone else noticed the same thing and called you on it and your response just screams scum to me.
