A £12m bid from Sunderland for John O'Shea, Darron Gibson and Wes Brown accepted? Sheesh, no surprises there.

Yeah. Although also good business for Sunderland. ManU's leftovers are nothing to sneeze at for a mid-table club, after all.

Gibson is a decent player, and the other two massively experienced. Very good for Sunderland, as they still make a profit and have a net gain of two players. Along with the permanent deal for ElMohammedy, their team is better than it was a week ago, and they're considerably better off financially too.

Lukaku to Chelsea. I guess that means Drogba will stay another year to act as tutor, and Torres will probably know that he'll have to share the limelight with a physically tough co-striker for as long as he remains at chelsea. Also, a Spurs bid for Abel Hernandez (Palermo) was apparently made, and Bojan Krkic is for sale, with apparently do far only Udinese negotiating.... wouldn't mind seeing him as Suarez' backup, if Wickham is going to be Carroll's.

We'll agree on that tapper, Bojan would be a good addition imo.

Lukaku deal has been talked about for a while

The mirror today claimed 'arry's latest target is the trio of Drogba, Parker and some brazilian chap

Damiao or something, I guess? Guardian had that up on the website as well.

yeah Damiao, never heard of him at all.

There was a great bit in the paper today about the english clubs debts, frightening amounts of money lost every year, and 68% (or somethign like that) on average of a clubs revenue goes on wages.

Apparently, he's a real talent.

And 70% revenue on wages is not that bad if you get to keep the remaining 30%... which yuo can't. I think in the end, stuff will settle itself. Maybe a few clubs will go down, it happens here in the netherlands, where several provinces have a professional football team in every main city with over 100l people. Such teams are not capable of sustaining themselves, so they go down. Maybe you lose 10-15 clubs, but the end result will be a healthy league.
And clubs like the PL top, Celtic, Rangers, Madrid etc, regardless of debt, will survive simply because their fanbase is international and the fans won't let the club go down, I guess.

Though I dislike Drogba intently, there's no doubt he would be a massive signing for Spurs. But why would he want to come here? Spurs have a wage structure they don't break for anyone, and financially it has made us one of the most stable clubs in the league. I'm assuming Drogba would want some ridiculous wage, so I can't see it happening.

As for Parker, meh. When would he play, outside of the Europa league?

I'm well happy about Friedel though - apparently turned down a chance at Liverpool. He should go straight into our starting XI.

5m offer from Liverpool for Gael Clichy? T'would be good for the 'pool if they got him, and apparently Arsenal prefer to sell now instead of lose him in a year on a Bosman.

Looks like Krkic will be used as part of the deal to lever Fabregas from the Arse. So unlikely to be going anywhere else until the chances of that happening are completely dead.

Arsenal are fucked this summer.

Can see Clichy, Fabregas, Nasri and Arshavin all leaving, as well as a load of backups who wont be missed if they're replaced (Bendtner, Denilson, Diaby et al) - but Arsene so rarely buys, and when he does they're unproven, that I think we'll see a threadbare side that isn't up to much next year. Good news for the young English players at the club who'll have a chance to get a game, but I don't know if they're up to it yet tbh.

You have bought Carl Jenkinson, if that is not a sign that Wenger is changing his policy of buying cheap eighteen year old foreigners I don't know what is. I mean, he's not a foreigner, right? -_-

Anyway, if Wenger truly manages to contract Benzema, that would be a huge step in the right direction, but if Krkic is to come to London to compensate 10 mln or so in the Fabregas deal as broodie says, I bet you're not going to purchase Benzema....

100 per cent - cannot see Drogba and Harry being a happy combo but like you, I fancy Friedel for a starting place - not as flaky as Gomes

yeah. On the bright side, your overkill on mercurial small midfielders would be solved and Pienaar could be in the starting line up for once....

Hmmm, not 52. 35 would be fair I think.

I hear Man U will offer 18 + Berbatov.

I have a feeling Modric is better of at Chelsea, playwise. With Fergie's insistence to play wingers, I see Modric easily benched in favor of two burlier types in the tough games, whereas at Chelsea he'd be the advanced mid tasked with supplying Torres and would probably always have a dedicated defensive midfielder in his back for the tackling.

Berbatov who basically went on strike to force a move to United in the first place? No thanks!!
