Also, it should not be that hard to get all of us together for about an hour to do a live draft. That is all it would take. If we can get 9 of 10 or 11 of 12 together for it then we should. If i am the one missing it, im cool with that but i am strongly against doing another forum draft. It takes way to long and is not efficient.

Yeah, I have to say it is much more efficient. I've been doing live online mock drafts for my other leagues. A draft for a ten team league takes about forty minutes on average, that's doing a fifteen round draft. So if we could all get together on a weekend that suited everyone we'd be done in less than an hour. If someone were unable to make the live draft, the computer picks for you, giving you the highest ranked player available at a given position.

Yeah, a live draft is definitely the way to go. It really is relatively quick and easy, and actually kind of exciting. It only takes an hour at most, and then it's over with. I don't think the time differences are so great we cant work out an hour to all be online at the same time. We can set the date well in advance so there's time to get schedules in order. I'm willing to be up early or late on a weekend to get it done.

For anyone who was trying to join before and was unable, I went in and changed the settings. Sorry about that, for some reason yahoo had saved our entire roster from last year making it seem as if the league was full. All fixed now.

There was about 24 hours worth of posts lost when the forum crashed, I think. That included what we were talking about on this thread.

13-14th of august would work for me as well. Any time is fine, though I would prefer starting in the late morning/early afternoon EST so that there is time for our European members to draft as well.

No worries, you actually balanced the number of teams in the league. If we do end up with an unbalanced number of teams, I'll just run two teams to even things out. Welcome to our league!

I'm assuming KM has a lot going on right now and hasn't had a chance to come up with a schedule for times yet, so I'm just going to put forward a date and time.
If it's convenient for enough people we will have the live draft on Sunday August 14 at 11:00 CST. I believe that is 5:00 for the people overseas which should allow them to get the draft over and done with before dinner. The draft should take about forty minutes total.
If this time is terrible for people let me know and we'll try to come up with something else. Remember you can also set your preferences ahead of time and have your team selected via auto draft if you are unavailable.

So, you give us two days out of the entire summer in which you can find the time to spend 30 minutes on the computer to do a live draft, then back out of the day we set according to your schedule...
Anyway. I'm not going to be around Saturday now, as Ive arranged my schedule around a Sunday draft.

Okay not to start a big thing here now, but to be fair Brood you didn't say it was virtually impossible. You gave us times and two dates during which you would be available, which is why we've all been listing times and trying to figure out how many of us would be available for the 13th or 14th of August. You also stated you wouldn't participate this year if your team had to be auto drafted which is why I've been bending over backwards in an effort to accommodate you. I work on Saturdays and had already shuffled my patients around to try to make myself available for a few hours to do the draft. I can't move things around anymore than I already have, so unfortunately I can't do the draft on Saturday either.
You've now made it clear the only thing that will work for your schedule is the offline draft. As I explained in earlier posts I'm not down for the offline draft, I'm simply too busy with work and other commitments and it's a lot or work behind the scenes, trying to keep track of people's picks for them and make sure everyone stays on track. I would rather have as many people as possible participate in the league and I don't want to rock the boat, so I'm going to bow out of the league this year. I have other leagues I'm a part of and I don't want to stop people who many not have other leagues from participating. I'll look into handing the commissioner duties over to someone else. Brood you may be the best person to take it over as you can plan the offline draft around your schedule. If someone else wants to do it though feel free.

Well, really, you seem to have been obstinately opposed to a live draft from the very beginning and now, after people have tried to accommodate you, you are throwing up yet another roadblock. It's frustrating.
So, like TB, I'm bowing out too. Have a good season, guys, if you all decide to continue with this league.
