Seems like you need to unwind, Drek. What tickles your fancy? Fairy, slime... hyena?

Incidentally, D'rek. Interspecies Reviewers seems to be the currently highest rated anime of the season and I am interested in your take on this.

As an addendum to the above query, my thoughts are:
Incessantly lewd and crude, the premise is fucking ridiculous, and yet somehow it is legitimately funny (possibly because it knows exactly what it is and doesn't try to hide this at all). Also benefits from having very catchy OP/ED.

So Netflix is making a live action ONE PIECE show!

Ehhhhhh. I got up to just before the water city arc of the anime and abandoned back in 2007. Never picked it back up.

Honestly, OP has it in it to be a REALLY solid live action show from a story POV...and consider that Netflix is also doing Cowboy Bebop with Jon Cho, and a live action Last Airbender too....as long as they find a good way to translate the powers of the main cast, and avoid the unnecessary filler...I would be cautiously optimistic.
Plus Oda himself is apparently involved in overseeing...that's not bad.

I just can't see Netflix wanting to make a series anywhere close to as long as One Piece is. They're going to condense the story down a ton, and I don't think a significantly condensed narrative will be good for the story.

I mean One Piece is like... 1000 episodes or more now? It's already overbloated and girthy as is

To be frank the major arcs of each section of OP can be condensed down and lose absolutely nothing. The arcs that are 4-6episodes can be one MAYBE two....and the longer arcs can be condensed too. The Skypeia arc alone is like 43 episodes I think...they could easily drop that down to a half season (5 eps). Not that I disliked the Skypeia arc...but while watching it I KNEW that so much fo it was "What will happen NOW?! Tune in next time to see!"...The filler that exists even in the best arcs of OP is overwhelming...excise it with a solid screenwriter and you've got a tidy episodic show for a number of years. Will they finish it? Nah, it's Netflix, it will run 3 or 4 seasons depending on popularity...but they will give it a solid go.

OK so Ishuzoku Reviewers made a different headline because Funimation decided to both drop the dub, and drop airing it at all after three episodes due to it 'not meeting [their] guidelines'.
Which begs the question, why did they license it at all? Did they not read the manga first? Even a brief synopsis of the premise would have told them it was not a kid friendly show...

New Game! recently had a dub go live. And whilst it's a bit stiff in the way of older shows that got dubbed, it's worth remembering how fucking great that show is. Plus, Sakura Skip is still a ludicrously blessed OP.

Alright, I did it. I watched the entire first 2 episodes of Interspecies Reviewers, just for you Maark. And then because everyone was saying Funimation pulled it because of episode 3 I went and watched that episode, too, why not. That was certainly... a thing.
Ok, so in seriousness it was actually better than I thought it would be, I actually laughed at a fair few of the jokes like the age/mana-preference dichotomy. Even some of the obvious jokes (like Crim being too big - saw that coming a mile away) are still executed pretty well. Though I can't say any of the sex scenes did much for me.
So the good is:
> It's not trying to be something it's not. E.g. we get maybe 20 seconds of the main duo being adventurers per episode and that's it - no point wasting time on yet another isekai-esque fantasy fight scene that is irrelevant and would be done better in dozens of other shows.
> Avoids the stupider tropes that it could easily have gone with. E.g. I thought for sure Crim would be a puritan and nag them.
> Jokes are actually funny most of the time
> Actually delivers on its promise, mostly (as opposed to just the characters talking about the brothels but never actually showing them, or it being one of those shows where the sex-obsessed character nevertheless never actually gets any because of a differet slapstick misfortune happening every week)
And the bad is:
> The character designs are very boring
> The worldbuilding makes no sense. The world is already so harmoniously diverse, and already see plenty of evidence of lots of interspecies prostituion/sex happening. And yet most of the discussion/reviews these guys talk about/write are talking just about what it's like to sleep with so-and-so species... wouldn't that already be common knowledge? You would think the reviews they write would be more about the establishment/prostitute themselves, not about the species.
> The start of their reviews business is very lacklustre. They just sort of write one as a gag and then overnight become reviewers pseudo-accidentally, but the characters also never really reacted to or talked about becoming reviewers. Frankly, I think it would have been much more interesting if we saw them be surprised about the popularity of their one-off first review, decided to make it a publication, etc, and there was a sort of rising fame. Otherwise, nothing really connects - Bird Girl says they're selling copies, but everyone we see is just reading it off the wall, and why is a bar making paper copies anyways?
> There's some odd/non-woke opinions on sexual orientation here. Our MCs grew up in an extremely diverse society where hundreds of sentient species intermingle and intermarry, and they think it's not weird at all for a fully grown human to fuck a 6-inch-tall fairy... but heavens forbid someone try being bisexual for one night!
> Given the whole show is just fantasy softcore porn, isn't the "pay-off" kind of weak? They keep doing these little cut-away slideshow things where the prostitutes are displayed like a pin-up calendar instead of ever showing them actually interact together at all.
