I caught the first episodes of Horimiya and SK-infinite. The former is a high school romcom, but it's pretty cute so far. The latter is about skateboard racing and strange but also fun. Plus one of the main duo is a Canadian transfer student so I *have* to watch it now. Both have really good looking visuals.

Horimiya seems like it'll be fun.
Couple of shows you might be interested in D'rek:
Otherside Picnic - exploring parallel worlds inhabited by eldritch realities with a very specific handgun and blossoming friendships
Wonder Egg Priority - ID Invaded level dream weirdness with the same lucidity but it's very much more "my dreams are trying to kill me and those in them" psychological horror rather than murder mysteries.

Ya, I'll definitely be watching Wonder Egg just haven't gotten to it yet. I saw the trailer for otherside picnic a while back, kinda waffley about it, we'll see.
I need to watch the first episode of Ex-Arm, too. Everyone is going nuts joking over how utterly terrible it is and that I have to see it to believe it.

Redo of a Healer is out, the 'edgy oh my god why' anime of the season.
Despite all roads pointing to bad times, the first episode was pretty damn good and it has the hallmarks of a revenge rampage story like my book. Let's see if it continues to impress...

I am not impressed at all. I tried watching the first episode of this just to see what all the fuss is about and IMO this is the blandest attempt to be edgy I've ever seen. I had to turn it off halfway through the episode, it was just so boring.
"I'm a healer so everyone literally beats the shit out of me and I'm addicted to drugs and everytime I heal someone I have massive existential breakdowns and I can't stand it."
3 seconds later...
"Being a healer makes me a literal god and those existential breakdowns don't matter at all and also I somehow know everyone's evil plans because I overheard them from the manure trench where I was forced to sleep every night now watch me be the bestest best that ever bested"
And they really couldn't think up a better way for the main character to get his superpowers/learn his true identity except for "one night I went for a walk in the woods and a fairy unlocked them for me for no reason"
This writing is just so basic. They even do the stupid over-used "ahhhh I can't control the power in my right hand" trope that is synonymous with little kid power fantasy stories from like two decades ago.

Watched the new log horizon episode. The plus side is that band maid did the new opening.
The down side. I think i understood maybe half of what was going on? Either the subs are terrible or theres something im just not getting.

Ah, I'm just a sucker for revenge rampages D'rek. So there's bias on my end. Basic or not, it was fun enough that I'll continue.
This week's Higurashi was... pretty brutal.

I've decided I'm just gonna rewatch the whole show before jumping into season 3 because yeah I don't remember nearly enough of the politics and it's an awesome show so why not.

A few shows I've been watching over the last few days and updates...
Wonder Egg Priority - still weird as fuck. Story seems to be that the MC is trying to save their friend, who killed themselves, by saving other girls who are trapped in dreams.
Redo of Healer - not shocking to me but then I wrote the novel that I did which features similar revengey nastiness. We'll see how the story progresses...
Re Zero - Story is picking up again. I feel like he's just hit another respawn point. Enjoyable.
Non Non Biyori - season 3 is predictably lazy and comfy, but that's kind of what the show needs. It's cosy.
