Ah, well, see, I think I'm on like episode 10 or 11. It would be insanely easy for me to finish the series from there, but honestly I've been "CBF" about it for so long I now almost don't want to finish it. XD

Yup, it's a combination of the better writing in the Phantom Bullet arc and the people behind the adaptation actually stepping up their game. :)

Initial reports suggested closure, but now I'm hearing that they may only be halting production for the time being. Still sucks regardless, but I'm holding out hope that they're not gone for good. Princess Mononoke was the first anime film I saw and it's still my favorite.

Me too! That ominous bit of a confrontation at the end of episode 5 was great. Seriously, though, you'd think Kirito would know better in regards to handling his "reveal" to Sinon, given that his usual group of friends are 4 girls (does he still hang out with Klein and the bartender guy, too? They didn't appear at all in the first few episodes). Silly Kirito!

Not sure how I feel about not-female GGO-Kirito. I thought from the opening sequence that he really would get re-rolled as a girl avatar, possibly on purpose to avoid being recognized, but obviously that's not the case. He really looks too feminine to be just a guy with long hair, but on the other hand his voice is obviously a guy anyways. They've pretty much used up the jokes from it already, and I'm sure (read: I really hope) they won't beat that joke to death all season, so in the end what was really the point of it?

Thats really sad news. Can't understand why the latest movie did so badly? To be honest this is the first I'm hearing about it. Had japan gotten over Ghibli productions? Or was it just a badly reviewed film?

My sister in Japan thinks this is all a massive overreaction and this is just a reorganisation, the Japanese media is apparently not making a big deal about it at all, and she's pretty sure there would be more reaction if it was closing for good. I expect we'll see a cutback in output, but since they still make money as far as I know, I doubt this is a permanent thing.

Latest ep of SAO was amazing, the pacing and tension is phenomenal. This show has solid directing.

Agreed (this is epi 6 we're talking about btw), I've said before that a big part of what I like about SAO is that it isn't afraid to go deep with emotional crises, as we saw here.

if you like Sci Fi you will like it. It's an interesting take on the genre.

Meh, I didn't like the Gauna. I hate that unknowable, overpowered alien trope.

However, I started watching Sword Art Online and am 5 episodes in. Enjoyable so far.

I finished season one and loved it, and I want to start watching season 2, but I don't really like subs. (Let's skip the age-old argument of subs/dubs :rolleyes: Just as pointless as a scientist debating a creationist/fundamentalist). Any word on a dub for it?
