As soon as I have a third article for the newsletter I'll send it out and then start working on ideas for next week's.

The spotlight section I've filled in with some info about the omen machine. Are there any submissions for the final article? Lusipher, did you get a chance to think about anything?

At this point in time, no I have not, but if I can get something together in the next 4hrs, I'll let you know (assuming you want to send this by Thursday). I'm still interested in contributing something, but other things (insufferable wife and daughter!) have taken up most of my time lately.

Is anyone else wondering about the time taken to actual benefit ratio we're experiencing with this?

I mean getting Apt is good and all, and the joke has gone well beyond what would be normally expected, but how much more lulz will we get out of the considerable time people seem to be putting into this?

I wouldn't say it's 'considerable time' at all. It took me about two minutes to write that thing about saveourseeker.com. If no one else volunteers, I'll write something else for the newsletter.

Yeah I only took a couple of minutes to write something quick, it is worth it to see the reactions and cause general mayhem.

I think your mistake here is thinking that the amount of time taken is the same as the amount of pranking completed. May I remind you that we've only sent three emails to Apt and on that basis, I think the benefit/reaction levels have been quite good.

If we bombard him with mail full of blatantly fake material, it'll be obvious to Apt that it's a prank and then we'll have had no worthwhile reaction from him. The aim of this operation is to be subtle and to make him believe we're something we're not and that can't be done in a day.

As others have said, we've actually put relatively little time into this; the rest has just been waiting.

Anyway, as I've said before, if you want to write articles for the newsletter, please do -- write as many as you want and email them to the GG address or post them here. I'd expect to send at least three newsletters to Apt before he catches on, so that's at least another seven articles needed.

Writing them early isn't a problem; the only problem is not being able to send an unfinished newsletter.

I saw a load of email notifications for friend requests and I was going to sort it out this morning but I must have been delayed -- I appear to be slacking on the facebook front, but thank you for your rescue attempts, Knight Commander.

It is my opinion that we have come to the point where a team decision needs to be made. There has been a noticeable drop of interest shown in Operation Fungible and in light of this, I believe we need to establish whether we should continue with the operation or whether to abort and say no more of it.

This decidion does need to be made as soon as possible, though, as -- although I am still to recieve a final article for the first newsletter and I am unable to send the email until I have said article --should someone submit an article to me and we choose to go ahead with sending Apt the newsletter, I believe we must commit to sending multiple copies as stated in that last amendment to the schedule, as to send only one before aborting would look highly suspicious and would possibly give us away.

Should we decide to abort the operation, with the Knight Commander's approval, the Goodkind's Goodfolk facebook page, blog and email account will be deleted, this thread will be locked and Operation Fungible with not be spoken of again. Apt will continue to live his ignorant life in the belief that Goodkind's Goodfolk asked him to represent them at Malazan Empire but he refused and heard no more from them.

To simplify, the choice before us is as follows:

- Continue with Operation Fungible and commit to sending at least three newsletters (or until Apt starts sending angry responses for us to leave him alone)

- Abort Operation Fungible immediately, never do discuss it again

I have decided to create a poll which will include those very options, which will be open momentarily.

Thank you for your understanding

I think we should continue. Give me a little while to come up with something to write about; I've been running around like crazy the last couple of days but it's settled down now.

Same, I tried to post in work but was thwarted by the dreaded tourists! I'll happily write more, it's been great getting baffled reactions and when we do finally pull the plug we want it to be a totally awesome, sneaky, ninja-esque withdraw that leaves everyone confused and baffled. It is not out time yet to yield!

Do you think it would be a little too obvious at this point if I pretended to be a PhD philosophy professor giving a testimonial? Maybe working on my PhD. What do you guys think?

I'd just go for it, I think it'd be really funny and not ridiculously unlikely either.

Aye, we could have an article about the philosophy in the books. Sounds good.

We're currently a week behind schedule. The longer this takes the more I'm going to have to stretch the schedule to make it appear legitimate. I'm already thinking about sending the newsletters once every two weeks, now, otherwise there's the possibility that Apt will notice the fact that he didn't recieve an email last week, which he should have done if we're sending weekly installments.

The quicker we can get these emails out, the quicker we can complete the operation. If we sit here for too long, though, we're going to need a lot more time before we can stop.

I'd like to say again; if we go ahead with this, we must commit to writing AT LEAST NINE articles, only two of which I've already received. Can you confidently say you're able to do this?

If you're confident in your ability to meet this requirement and wish to continue with the operation, then I would have the third article submitted to me today. If I cannot send the first email today then I will have to alter the schedule to installments being sent every two weeks, in order to avoid suspicion.
The love I bear thee can afford no better term than this: thou art a villain.
