Leon made it to the lab. And now there's another mutant plant. Good thing I got this upgraded flame thrower, huh?
The moment where I had to call it quits for the night was a room with 2 lickers, and 3 zombies.
That's just a brutal combo.
Tomorrow I might just brute-force the herbicide maker lock combo. Can't be that hard to get 2 numbers right.

Well, I done killed the big bad Eyeball monster. He really didn't like fire.
But now Mr X got himself a G-Virus claw. WTF, Capcom?
Edit: ok, wasted that bastard.
Guess I'll do a Claire run next.

Dang, Claire as 2nd run is not easy.
Things I've learned: best way not to waste green herbs is to combine them with Red. Also, using the knife saves bullets.
Just started but I'm already doing a ton more crowd control with Claire cuz she is squishier, and her guns suck.
EDIT: OTOH, the mini-grenade launcher one-shots everything, which is quite nice.
Not a big fan of playing hide'n'seek with X on the prowl and lickers everywhere, but I'm making due.
Finished the 2nd part of the Police station, but I skimped on a save, and then I got tossed into a stealth section... and losing it booted me waaaay back, which is all kinds of annoying.
I'll have to regroup and continue tomorrow.

That stealth section... yeah, not my cup o' tea.
Back in the sewers. Claire's story really lacks the "oomph" right now. The starting gun is suddenly amazing after a few upgrades, but I'm guessing these are rare bullets? High-powered bullets? I don't think I can make more of these.

I picked up Assassin's Creed Odyssey in the Steam sale. I wasn't sure if it would run on my pc, given its age, but it's actually running beautifully - so far, about 12 hours in - with the settings at either 'high' or 'very high' apart from the anti-aliasing which I turned down to 'medium'. Not sure if that latter has made any noticeable difference, though!
I wasn't a fan of the earlier AC games so I'm one of those heathens who enjoyed Origins because of the move towards being an RPG, so I'm enjoying this one even more. Plus Kassandra rocks.

I loved the opening where they give control to the player just as Cassandra gets punched in the nose. That got a pop out of me.

Interesting. I've not played Odyssey because it came out at the same time I had my son so I don't get to play any more. I've been a huge fan of the AC games right since the first one and I think I've played nearly every single one. Origins was my favourite. Many of the mechanics that I loved so much were the same and the RPG elements just added to the experience.
I mean Black Flag was a special case because I loved the ocean bits but Origins was just sublime.
My order:
Origins
Black Flag
Syndicate
II
I
Brotherhood
Revelations
Unity
III.
Not played Odyssey, Rogue or Liberation.

I bought myself a gaming laptop just before Christmas, so spent the Christmas break getting reacquainted with Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Turns out I still love virtually everything about it and sunk about 60 hours in across the week. Nowhere near finished.

I spent many many hours trying to find a way my elven girl could hook up with Blackwall, dump his ass following the revelation, have a torrid rebound with Iron Bull, and finally end up with Cullen.

I began trying to romance Solas but 1) his is very tied into the main plot line, so difficult to advance when you're running about building up power etc. and 2) he's too grumpy, and I already know who he turns out to be so all the surprise is sort of taken out of it.
It's sort of entertaining how easy it is to get round the plot line choices causing mistrust though. Cullen was all "Whaaaa what did you pick the mages for and then give them freedom?" but two minutes later "Ah but you're cute, and you said nice things to me about lyrium, MARRY ME." (all but
)
In my play through Iron Bull and Dorian are making it very obvious to anyone who'll listen within the party interaction that they've hooked up.

Ah, well if you liked Origins I am sure you'll like Odyssey, as it takes everything Origins did and improves upon it. I'm saying that when I'm only a dozen hours in, of course.

Last sequence of RE2 as Claire. I need more ammo.
Edit: okay, finished. Damn, that was not an easy fight.
Wrapped up both ends of the story, so I think I'm ready to take a break after spending 40 hours with the game. I'll probably do another run later for a few more achievements, but for now I think i'll try something different. Maybe try this Halo thing people are talking up so much.

Started shooting stuff on Heroic in Halo Reach. 2 hours played, 2 missions done.
I have no idea what's going on besides I'm shooting some aliens. Feels very "Starship Troopers: the Movie"
a few complaints about the PC version, but overall it's fun enough.

If you're confused about what's going on I'd almost recommend you suspend playing reach and wait for the rest of the Master Chief Collection to come out. Assuming you've never played any of the other Halo games.
Think of it like less Starship Troopers and more like the 300 Spartans holding back the Persian army.
The story is definitely my favorite of the Halo games. At least the ones I've played.

Reach remains one of my all time favourite games (partly nostalgia due to many, many hours playing with good friends), but it definitely isn't a good entry point into the series. Definitely my favourite Halo game, hands down.

Played an hour of Slay the Spire last night. I'm not sure I understand the hype.
It's a pretty polished turn based card brawler but I don't see anything special about it.
