Nier: Automata is really good. I normaly feel repulsed from almost all things anime-like, but Nier is amazing.

I finished Stardew Valley and Mirrors Edge: Catalyst last week.
I finished the community center in Stardew Valley and got my grandfathers approval and that pretty much wrapped up my interest for the game. There were still some stuff I could have worked on but I felt like I'd done everything I needed. Last thing I did was to sell every item I had stored in my inventory of chests. Turned out I had over 600,000 gold worth of products saved up.

Apt, is there any pressure in-game to complete the story? At the moment I'm nearing the end of the first summer, but not making any effort to collect for the Centre as I'm mostly just fishing and farming at a fairly slow pace. Once you start trying to collect specific fish and seasonal forage items it adds an awareness of the time/days passing that takes away from an otherwise chilled out game.

There's no pressure at all. You can do what ever you want, you wont be penalized later on for not doing something fast enough or something like that. However, there are some important benefits to doing the community stuff. I'd say it's namely fixing the minecarts and getting the greenhouse that are most worth it, since you can quick travel around the map with the carts and the greenhouse allows you to harvest fruit trees anything else you like year round.
I didn't start thinking about that stuff until year two since there was so much other stuff to learn. If you do want to make sure you're at least trying to get the right stuff, I'd argue that there's only a few things you have to do. You should get a certain plant that only spawns in the secret woods (behind the fallen log) in the summer. And you should try to fish at each water hole/place twice every season. Once when it rains and once when it doesn't. Try to spend and entire day doing it, since there are fish that only appear in the mornings (before 2 PM I think) and at night (after 4 PM I think).
I kept a piece of paper with every item I needed for the community centre written down and crossed each item out as I went along. It helped me to keep track of stuff I needed with out having to constantly think about it.
I'd also recommend trying to get gold star harvests. I filled the pond close to the house filled with crab pots so I was getting a lot of fish/crabs to create the best fertilizer for my plants.

If that sounds convoluted, that's because it is. I've not played it myself yet but it's definitely one of the most talked about games this year.

Thanks... I'll probably start organised collecting in year 2. So far I just keep one of everything I grow or catch in chests but now I have the kitchen I've been cooking some of my collections!

I kept normal, silver and gold (and purple) variations of absolutely everything, just in case somebody asked for something special or some new type of quest popped up. I kept 5 of each silver and gold item and 10-20 of the normal items. In the end it turned out the only thing you really need 5 of (besides for buildings) is the seasonal packages for the pantry section in the Community center. But I liked feeling like I had worst case scenario ressource pool to draw on.

I tried out the demo for Prey, and I actually rather enjoyed it. Might very well end up buying it next week, depending on what the reviews say about the rest of the game.

Everything I've heard about the game makes it sound like Prey is a must buy.
Unfortunately there's no PC demo which makes me very suspicious given how many performance issues Dishonored 2 had.

Looks pretty bonkers! IGN or someone similar did a video of the weirdest things they have done in the game. You can morph into any object so there's video of them trundling around as toilet paper etc. Pretty fun by the looks of it...

Been playing a lot of Evolve lately as it was free with Gold in March. Having a lot of fun with it. Also went online with Blazblue after a 6 week hiatus, didn't get totally rekt which was nice.

That game is great. I'm on my third lay through now and it's an entirely new storyline this time around, following the storyline of the first two playthroughs.

I'm pretty much sold. There are quite a few things I don't like about the look of it, but I'm interested by the feedback and reactions of those that are really into it.

Played some Dead Rising 4 last night.
Only played around an hour of the prologue but I really like it. I know a lot of purists love Dead Rising 1 + 2 with their more strict gameplay rules and time management, but I much preferred Dead Rising 3. This game feels like a better, prettier Dead Rising 3 so I'm pretty damn happy.
What's even better, I love Frank West. I've heard they've changed him a lot from his character in the first game, but this version is hilarious. Some legitimately fun writing.

Nier Automata.
I was just feeling really happy at reaching the first boss and getting really into it and... bam. Back to the start! Nooo!
Also I have no idea what I'm picking up or how to use it. It took me until the boss to realise you can keep that gun rattling away on auto while you dodge and fight.
Impressed so far, even though no save at all means everything I did this eve has gone and I'll have to try again tomorrow.

Not until after the first boss, apparently.. it was pretty funny/cruel as the first line in the game is about the spiral of life and death - which I found myself staring at again as the game restarted. I was slightly put out, I was expecting a check point at least!

Man, you just put me completely off playing Nier. Not putting a check point before a boss battle should be considered a war crime.
Still playing Dead Rising 4. It's fun but it's also way too easy. I haven't died once yet and even with my low level character I plough through droves of zombies easily. The opening area is also pretty convoluted. It's a really well designed super mall but there's so many gated or blocked areas that it becomes hard to figure out where to go to reach your objective.
I bought some humble bundle games so this morning I've been played "Stephen's Sausage Rolls" for those of you who are curious, it's a very highly rated, highly praised log puzzle game, where you're rolling sausages around to grill them. I've been wanting to play it for ages since it's the only game I've ever seen on Steam with a perfect 100 metacritic score but it was always priced 25 euro or above, which I thought was ridiculous.
Turns out it's pretty damn good. Fiendishly clever and infuriating. I think there's a reason why Jonathan Blow named in one of his all time favorite puzzle games.

Haha, has Dark Souls taught you nothing?

There were even phases during the boss battle. I got through a few, but he smacked me when I dodged too late. There are only the introductory factory levels before that, so I reckon I can get back there quicker next time - he's kind of the Taurus Demon of DS. The gameplay is a good mix though, flipping from arcade flying to top down to side scroller all fluidly and quickly. Loving the music too.
And like DS, I can't wait to put it on later and kick its ass.

I didn't die much in that game, but in the boss battles I did die in I respawned at the start of the battle. There is quite a bit of autosaving, but normally you save in an area where there's a save point (they're everywhere).
