Malazan Tattoo? Should I get one/ do you have one?

So I've been wracking over my first tattoo and I think I know what I want to do. I want to do itkovian's line: "I am not yet done." but I'm not sure where. That whole part of the series really struck a chord with me because I'm prior military. Rather than need a spoiler box to explain the life parallels,I'll just say his story moved me at a time I needed to be reminded I'm not done either. Does anyone else have anything malazan themed on them or have any awesome ideas on placement or style as this is something I actually intend to carry forward. Pictures would be awesome and I will certainly post when I get mine done.

I think there are a couple of tattoo related threads in the Art subforum. IIRC someone has the US MMPB cover of House of Chains on their upper arm and I must admit it looks awesome.
I'm already inked in a couple of places and have been pondering my next piece which is definitely going to Malazan inspired.

I was thinking about this once, wondering if I were to get a Malazan inspired tattoo what it would be and where, and I also thought of Itkovian's line 'I am not yet done.' The other I considered was Whiskeyjack's describtion of war (can't recall the exact phrasing at the moment) but that one I think would need to be scripted under a supporting picture, imo.
'I am not yet done' - myself, I would have it tattoo'd across my right wrist (palm side, not top). I would say on the left side of my chest, near my heart, as well, but that wouldn't be feasable for me but would work well for a guy, I think.

I was actually wondering if this should be in the Malazan Art forum and it probably should be but this is the first place I thought of just because i'm more of a regular here than most other sections. Loki, I was thinking the wrist idea myself, but affirmation is always appreciated.

There was a thread on this somewhere, but can't find it at the moment.. In any case, as far as quotes go, I've got 'Victory is not inevitable.' [said by Silchas Ruin in MT] on the inside of my left arm. Though I like the around the wrist idea.

I'm thinking about getting one for my 25th birthday. I was thinking one of the poems, where the first few words have turned into butterflies or something..and I want lots of colour!
I'll find the poem and do a sketch of it later
OP: I like it. You should definitely get it:)

'I am the Shield Anvil.' I am Fener's grief. I am the world's grief. And I will hold. I will hold it all, for we are not yet done. <Itkovian>
'We are not born innocent, simply unmeasured.' <Hull Beddict>
'Because a god visits her, Fist. He comes to break her heart. Again and again.'<Nether>
'Fucking dragon.' <Fiddler>
Take my breath. But not this one, not this one. <Apsalar>
'Aye.' It's a good word. I think. More a whole attitude than a word, really. With lots of meaning in it, too. A bit of 'yes' and a bit of 'well fuck' and maybe some 'we're all in this together.' So a word to some up the Malazans. <Sunrise>

Wow that is an awesome tatoo, i would quite like one too, might get the sort of banner (the sort of twisted metal one thats around the titles on the covers) around a small quote, such as the rhivi drover in MOI "It will be done when it is done."
Not too sure though.

Do you only want to have the line from Itkovian or do you also want to add an image? I usually do not have an idea where to put simple writings so I won't be of much help.
I have got a picture of my left arm (I think I already posted it in the Bridgeburner T-Shirt design thread) It's a combination of the Bridgeburners symbol and some other stuff. On my right arm I currently have got an image of a dragon head combined with "Is it chance or destiny" (not really the correct translation but being german it's the best i can make up after some beer) in latin around it. I want to add some cards from the Deck of Dragons to it so that the Tattoo is extenden onto my right shoulder and upper back. Since we are already discussing ideas I might as well ask whether you have any ideas which cards would be best suited. Although it will be really hard to design them but after some Tattoos I might as well demand a lot from him

Just thinking about Icarium asking who you served with, if you served in a few certain regiments i imagine the simple "First in, Last out." might fit you perfectly.

Served in the Navy sadly so it's not like a unit pride thing. This is more for me. I probably should have been a Marine but I can't see myself hopping on that bus anymore. That picture is badass. I think I want to get something with more than just the words but I figured like minded people might give me some ideas to get on track.

Probably getting mine at the beginning of the year. It'll be a kneeling knight with his sword point on an anvil and the line "I am not yet done" under it. Really looking forward to it. Pics to follow. Thanks for keeping this thread productive!

I'll never be quite yet done with my tattoos. It's like poison; when you start you really can't stop. Did the bridgeburner thing 2 weeks ago. Really satisfied with the result.
The knight you're getting, is it/the scene from the books or from something else?
Ah, I now read the whole thread and saw the Itkovian reference. One of my favourite characters. Looking forward seeing it in ink.
