Wow, the actress playing Mellisandre is friggin hot! Jeyne on the other hand is not, alas.

Also, for those remembering Larry the GoT-youtube-review man, today he received a gift from the producers and Sean Bean:

They should of got a special subtitle done, 'They killed my nigger NEddddd!' So easy to do at low cost for something like this.

But still pretty awesome.

Slew of casting announcements at WiC.net. Balon Greyjoy, Podrick Payne, Pyat Pree, Salladhor Saan, and Dagmer Cleftjaw (Chris "Finchie" Finch from the BBC office for any fellow fans of that series.)

How do you rape a cave? Do you ask, "You want to fuck, yes?" hear the echo come back, "Yes... es... es..." and get your barnacle-gouged groove on?

That's a pretty awesome Balon, looks-wise.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Agreed. Same with Pod, IMO, right down to his expression in that photo (a nice blend of confused, puppy-like, and constipated.)

Amen.

But really it would have been a travesty if he didn't win it.

I dunno man, the fact that the competition was so stiff, in my mind, makes the distinction that much more impressive. I would have been disappointed but not at all confused if John Slattery from Mad Men had won. Even if you aren't a MM fan (you should be) and don't have a full appreciation for just how awesome the character of Roger Sterling is, how ridiculous it is that Slattery's been nominated three times but never won, and how especially awesome his performance was in the last season, you've got to acknowledge the whole "Mad Men is the darling of the Emmys" perspective. Against all that, it's goddamned impressive that Dinklage won, and in my view makes his victory the biggest upset of the night. Not undeserved by any stretch. But the MM hardcores are probably sore as hell today, and I won't say that isn't deserved either.

He obviously won for his mastery of the accent.

Awesome. And considering what Tyrion gets up to in the second book and thus likely the second season, possibly not his last.

Next year, Leading Actor!

That look is what Hayden Christenson was desperately trying and failing to do every time he executed his God-awful "Anakin showing shades of Vader" look.

Doubt it, due to the nature of the ensemble cast and show. Leads absolutely carry their show, don't see any character doing that in AGoT. Just look at the previous nominees for the past couple of years.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

So anyone see the new "teaser"? It's fucking lame.

Ugh. Really HBO? Instead of waiting till they have some footage to cut together, they give us one line as text, (read by a dude, when we all know it's Melissandre's line) and the logo again.

This is nearly identical to the logo trailer they ran at the end of last season's finale.

While I am mega-excited for the second season, this is just a marketing faux-pas to me. HBO ought to have waited till they had something a bit more substantial before bothering to debut. This is more of the same that reveals jack squat, and it damned near pointless to me. It's like they assume that if they don't keep telling us that Season 2 is being made, people will forget or something. We are not that dumb HBO. LOL

Yeah, wow. That was some serious misuse of time money and effort
