Malazan Empire: Toc the Elder - Malazan Empire

As anyone got any thoughts on what happened to Toc the Elder? I dont think the books give much information on this. I wondered if the Hermit guy who lived on the coast in that tower was Toc the elder.

Any thoughts from the experts?
