Well Serc grabs a vote after all from HiddenOne based on his perception of her outstanding play. We're now at 3 votes Anomandaris, 2 votes Merrid, 1 vote Serc. Yet to vote are Okaros, Ruse, and Kalse.

Liosan, on 25 May 2011 - 03:31 AM, said:

Vote Serc

I knew Serc was kicking butt early on, reviewing my posts just now confirms. My reasoning:

Did well enough in challenges to not seem like a Leader, but seemed like a threat
Allied with half of former PEnsadors and seemed to play them like a flute
Was very convincing to me about working together, oh so tempting, I still know I wouldn't have made it to the end
It was awesome that Serc was so in control, she could warn me I was being plotted against without much fear that it would change anything

As an aside, I think meta was huge in the final alliances
And what's with Tapper? I gotta ask him waht he was thinking

Thanks PB enjoyed it a lot - I bet you're ready to sit back a play for a change

Twelve with more mea culpas?

Barghast, on 25 May 2011 - 02:36 PM, said:

My "rage" against Serc was still just game play. I wanted to highlight the mistakes that Serc made in hopes that people wouldn't vote for him. I think it came off as sincere anger because I was royaly pissed at someone in real life when I was writing some of my last posts and it definately carried over in how it came out on thread. Like my provisional states I would have voted for Serc as winner if Merrid wasn't in the finals.

However, regarding the Okaras fiasco, I was finally resigned to the fact that I lost to a known element of the game that we all knew from the beginning and then I found out about the substitute. How could I not feel anything other than being cheated? Especially when this was going down right at the merge and I get eliminated by chance?

But like I said before I should have kept my comments to myself as this is your game and your rules and I would still offer you my apology for my comments on thread.

Apology accepted.....?

DKT thinks it's a little bit whiny but eh, emotions are at play.

Anomandaris, on 25 May 2011 - 08:15 PM, said:

Is it me or are people bitching and moaning more than usual?

Well I think this officially eliminates Serc from contention... We have 4 votes Anomandaris, 2 votes Merrid, 1 vote Serc now. Kalse and Okaros are yet to vote. If Kalse votes for Merrid, I'll get Okaros to make a decision (since he could bring it to a tie between Anomandaris and Merrid). But if Kalse votes for Ano or Serc, it's over no matter what Okaros votes.

Ruse, on 25 May 2011 - 08:19 PM, said:

vote Ano

I think all of them played really well and had enough luck to make it to the end.
I picked Ano because Merrid tlked about voted for me the most in his pms and Serc lacks the little bit it would take me to vote for her.

Serc: You want to get my vote, so a little bit friendliness would have been appreciated. It doesn't hurt you to say 'Sorry Ruse, but I will vote for you' like the others did. :D

DKT wraps it up! Kalse votes for him. With Okaros, we're 6 Anomandaris, 2 Merrid, 1 Serc. A little one-sided, esp since everyone thinks Serc is the front runner.

Kalse, on 26 May 2011 - 03:39 AM, said:

My vote for the Sole Survivor goes to Anomandaris.

Coming into the final TC, I had planned to probably vote for Merrid, possibly Serc. However, I didn't have a good reason to vote for Merrid, just reasons not to vote for the other guys. Anomandaris had been criticized all game for either winning immunity or using an HII, which at the time did seem cheap. Alkend never participated and so I didn't even consider voting for him if he made it to the final three. Seeing everyone talk about their role really helped me make up my mind, and gave me a lot more insight into how the game went down. I think it's pretty clear that everyone isn't telling the whole truth yet, and because of that there's no real way to verify the specifics they gave me (for example, who they voted for). I realized eventually that they had all either lied to me or played a part in my eventual downfall, so there was no reason to feel like I voted for someone just because the other guy voted me off (not that there's anything wrong with that...).

I'm going to lay out my reasons in direct address -

@Serc: You played well. From the beginning of the game, I thought you had a pretty good chance to win if you didn't have an unlucky round at TC early on. I don't hold your little lies against you anymore; honestly, it was pretty smart, and it worked in your favor (at least a bit). What it really comes down to is I think the deck was stacked in your favor. Your 5-man alliance from day 1 almost guaranteed you'd make it to the merge, and once you got your alliance abilities my guess is that you were indispensable to your allies. The only rocky moment might have been post-merge when Dureza was down a member or two; voting off the Pensadors in six straight votes was impressive, though. I also find it hard to justify the use of abilities like eavesdropping on PMs. I mean, I can't blame you for using them but I can't really respect it either. When I heard that was possible I felt it broke the game a little for me. Still, you obviously used your abilities to the best of your advantage, to great success. But you were the front runner for the majority of the game, and I'm voting for the underdog. Odds are you might just win anyway. You were my second choice after Anomander.

@Merrid: I don't know what happened to you at this last TC but you seemed to really lose your composure. Initially you were my top choice; Barghast had a good connection with you, he said, and I trusted him the most, so I waited to see if you would contact me but you did not (after I had already broken my previous, useless alliance with you). Although it's true that only one person can win, it's very difficult for a person to make it to the end alone, and so I think your comments about this not being a team game are a little disingenuous. I respect loyalty more than success, and I find cooperation more worthwhile than betrayal; you said you were ready for any contingency and would betray any of your supposed allies if another group had the advantage. For this you lost my vote; well, this and acting so fed up with the game on thread. For all your supposed ruthlessness, you don't seem like you really want to win. However, it was impressive that you were able to make it so far without a strong role. Good game.

@Ano: You used your role well. Without context, your idol usage and immunity wins looked unfair, but I think now that you were the underdog struggling to survive. Alkend and Merrid admitted to trying to get rid of you, and there were lots of votes cast for you during multiple TCs. I identify with this position just from the way that you and the GBs started picking people off when you were in control of Dureza. When you have more at risk, victory is sweeter. I'm also impressed at the way you were able to manipulate Merrid into voting for Alkend, which allowed you to make it to the final three (all complaints about the rules aside). I feel like you came off as the most genuine player in this final TC, even though I don't really agree that you were actually trying to work with me. I still feel it was mostly for show and not substantial, probably because of stuff you did before the merge. I know you betrayed my abilities to the GBs when I told them to you in confidence, and I know D'riss approached you to join me and him and Barg, but you voted D'riss out along with the rest of the GBs (and would have voted me if that was the choice, I'm sure). Despite all that, I am giving you my vote because the underdog understands humility, and this choice simply feels the most right to me. I think you had to really work to make it to the final three and you deserve to win the most. Good luck.

Well some final thoughts from me before I post the winner.

I think if I were voting, Serc would be my choice. D'rek dominated this game from start to finish. She staved off elimination a few times, both from luck and circumstance. Certainly luck was involved at times, but ultimately, I think Serc grasped the rules the best and used them, and her abilities, to maximum advantage. Venge and Ano were both worthy candidates, but I perceive Venge as a subordinate to D'rek and Ano being powerful due to his role. Plus he wouldn't have the ability to know when to play the idol if not for the alliance Serc granted him. All said, well played by all!

Erm...it was fairly obvious when to play the idol. Alkend checking votes was just a precaution in case they went for someone else on our alliiance...but i was definitely the target those two times, i didnt need anybody to tell me.

Why dont they make the whole plane out of that black box stuff?

Lizra and Roldom: very well played. Reading through the PMs makes me appreciate just how much work you two did. Definately you two deserve the Pensador (Wo)Men of the Match. If only you guys hadn't given me the impression of being so tight with Lio... :apt:

Well, I actually might still have stabbed to spice things up :D
But I would have waited a bit longer.

Also, D'rek & Venge, you two held your alliance in an iron grip. I think after reading spoilers that if the jury had had access to SH instead of to the jury-tribe, the vote would have been different yet again.

After reading all the roles, well, they deserve some tweaking, imho, especially the strength specialist and the follower need a boost to be allow a player some more room.

Well done guys, nice job Dk.

I still am silenced from my regular account, I need to get that fixed, I guess, but it was a good game.

I passed a kidney stone (4mm) in the middle of it....dedication at its finest.

took a full 10 days to pass, I also had to get a shot of Tramedol (sp?) 2 shots of finnegrin, and 2 shots of morphine.

Ah well, those are the breaks.

Beware the next time I get a killer role though...I have alot of new names to add to my list!

Later\

^^agree with dkt here, the numbers of Pens vs Durs was indication enough, and we all knew it would be trouble after Lio and Karat got lynched. Ment was important here reading the votes in case there was a need to give the idol to someone else, but with dkt dominating the challenges so much that didn't end up being necessary. All I did was make the communication a bit faster.

The alliances are in full buzz! Serc's plan is really working for her... but will it work against her in the future?

The Dude wants to get together with twelve... will that save him from elimination since twelve is allied with Serc? He does the same with Ment, who's being somewhat ignored... although people think he's fairly strong?

Uh oh... The Dude may be in a lot of trouble... D'rek is targeting him for an early vote! I hope that some of the people who like this game will not get voted out too early =)

Okay, so the alliance is:

Serc
Merrid
HP
Alkend (hasn't yet confirmed)
Anomandaris (hasn't yet confirmed)

which means tonight we're voting for one of:

Tiam
Kalse
Barghast
D'riss

Of the four, I favour Tiam because he's got no alleged bonus stats, plus his timezone apparently doesn't match up as well with most of us and that may become a problem in planning challenges. Hard to judge content at this point, but he's not one of our big stars, either.

Thoughts? Also, any good ideas for a name for the alliance?

Holy crap! I was not 3 days late. D'rek you hadn't even consolidated your top 5 yet when I approached you.

Oh so close. I'm curious why you didn't include my in your 5 with Alkend and Ano not 100% in yet?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

And Roldom, sorry I called you a sheep-fucker. In my defense, I thought you were Silencer :apt:

I had MANY laughs during the game. DKT's various gifs from previous Survivor seasons (Na'onka, lol), or some of the things said by Bent or Venge or Serc D'rek (I loved the Fuck my Shivery Timbers or whatever you said)...

Man, it took hours to read all of SH, but it was worth it. It's probably as well that I went down when I did, my nerves would have been in shambles!

Tattersail sounded like a jealous girlfriend or something when he was (successfully) trying to sell me down the river. That's two I owe you now, Tatts.
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

@D'rek. I did read it all the way through. I guess that is where your and my strategy differed. I gave preference to those that contacted me so I could go out and contact others with the goal of being able to talk to as many people as possible. That was one of the reasons I allied with The Dude because he came to me. Your distrust of Alkend earlier in the game may have been in part due to the fact that you couldn't talk to him. But in any case you looked like you had things well under control and you did a great job. Congrats on making the finals.

Maybe next time we can be on the same side and kick ass together.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.
