Malazan Empire: What does the city of Pale looks like? - Malazan Empire

Greetings! I'm new to this forum. I discovered the works of Steven Erikson by pure chance.
I am an ilustrator and I live in Portugal. the publishing house I'm working with at the moment is editing Gardens of the Moon for the portuguese market and I was the fortunate artist to do the cover. Well, I chose a scene from the Siege of Pale for the illustration but I'm having a small problem... I'm trying to be as faithful to the book as I can and I'm having some trouble envisioning the style of the architecture of this city... Is anybody here who may help me on this? I tried to write an e-mail to Mr. Erikson, but I got no answer until now. A big thanks in advance.
