So what do you think of Silanah's role in this book? I wish we got more insight into her -- perhaps we will in Karkhanas. But I'm still a bit confused about her fire-bombing KG until the Queen gave her word to stop. She seemed to be playing out an old agreement or something, but I don't fully understand its purpose except that she was doing much the same thing during the old TA civil war, right? But I was afraid for a long while that she went off the rails after Rake's death, but couldn't believe an Eleint -- that particular Eleint, at least -- would actually do that. She was arguably Rake's most intimate ally, so what did they plan together? Why did she of all Eleint ally with Rake? What do you think she got out of it all?

My Understanding was that Sandalath went crazy and some how took control of Sillanah, not sure how but in her fear that the liosan were gonna
take the city she decided to fire bomb it using the dragon...or something

Apperently the queen of Darkness can command Silanah, probably due to some ancient agreement set forth by Rake at some point. As Sandalath lost control of her memories and started seeing ghosts and lost focus on what was reality, she drove silanah to start incenerating everything.

Ah, thank you. I did pick up on the fact that the Queen (as a role) had some power over Silanah, but I didn't pick up on the fact that she was being compelled by Sand to do the firebombing. For some reason, I just thought Sand, as Queen, had the power to hit the off-switch...the connection between her insanity and Silanah's rampage went over my head.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Yeah, that's why Nimander had to go confront Sand, to persuade her to release Silanah.
Relatedly, thought it was interesting how the Eleint got pseud-nerfed in tCG with the introduction of Storms and with this singular instance with Silanah.
