just curious as Esslemont is writing a book with scepter somewhere in the title..
and on a side note, why does he keep saying about his father while talking too mother dark....

Quick Ben himself the spawn of Draconus? I don't think so. I think pre-Raraku QB was quite mortal. However, one of the twelve souls he has inside of him is Andii, so that does lend some credence to your wild theory.

When I read it I took "father" to be Father Light.

The thing with the Sceptre could be handled in the Darujhistan novel, but some part of me thinks that the last book of the Kharkanas trilogy will actually take place post-TCG. SE obviously had that scene there for a reason, so it's definitely going to be expanded on some time in the future.

Which when i think about it is silly, as it would seem that MD would have had to impregnate herself to produce the lesser Andii...

We've started to have doubts about QB having an Andii soul. First, Supposedly QB was chosen as a "repository" for the souls because his body was the youngest and healthiest. Yet from what have seen the Tiste Andii (as a general rule) are a hardier breed than the "squishy" humans.
Second, What would a Tiste Andii be doing protecting some petty Seven Cities despot?

Ok, no real evidence to this, but I had the impression that a couple of the souls were twins spawned from MD and FL (true shadows?) and they had hidden in QB. Of course we still don't have any info on the names - Adaephon Delat, but they seem to be a hint. Are his sould capable of lying to each other? The hint to there once being a Magus of Dark once... ? I though as a child that was his name?? Gudd thining it was a glamour must have been due to the new body. And them saying this is his game, while ST and Cot were still playing their game... of course the final "i did it, but didn't plan it" sort of threw another spanner in.

Quick uses kurald galain throughout the series, thats why i think he has an andii soul. the question of why they chose his body and not the andii's could be answered if it turned out that the andii was blind gallan. 12 souls no eyes? what a waste. but as to why he's hanging out in 7C in some despots mage cadre, i'm unsure. then again, the soul in question could just be a part andii, as we see topper, who is a half andii (i think) use KG as well.

I thought Blind Gallan was dead??? long before mortal QB could come about.
But i just saw the bit with the specter and wondered if QB would make an appearance in
Esslemont's book where niamander goes to find QB or something but they could be unrelated.

On a Side note anyone reckon Bottle's gonna go and find Nether now that everythings over??
most of my questions regard what happened to the characters afterwards, i suppose SE was never the type to give us
the and they lived happily ever after, but those 20 marines well we've followed them for 5-6 books it'd be nice to an inkling as to what happened

You guys are missing something Ruthan Gud only recognized QB when Tavore said his name Adaephon Delat. If you read Memories of Ice, when Kalam was leading Whiskey Jack on that goose chase around the desert. He names all the Wizards that have fallen and when they finally comes across QB he says his full name Ben Adaephon Delat. So that means Ruthan Gud recognized QB before he had 12 souls shoved into him (which was at most 30 years before this event. Whiskey Jack wasn't immortal then.) He was recognized by an "Elder" Ruthan Gud then Ben Adaephon Delat must have been something special before he even had the 12 souls. Either that or Ruthan Gud just remembers him off of previous campaigns (within the 30 years.). Just my 2 cents.

Does Ben's sister ever use the name "Adaeophon"? Cuz that might help pinpoint if it's that name in particular that has special meaning. Perhaps it's the mysterious final soul's name? Or has connection to the TA or Draconus as some people speculate. Or perhaps it's an ancient title and not really a name, though his mortal peers assume it is.

But if he remembered him from previous campaigns, he would still have recognized the name Quick Ben, because isn't that the name he took when he joined up with the Malazans? There's gotta be something Ben Adaephon Delat (the man, the myth, the legend) did himself before he got 12-souled that leaves an Elder awestruck.

Wasn't the family name Delat? I remember his sister using it, I think. Well, that still doesn't explain 'Adaephon', though, except when it's just one of two first names.
