Love almost everyone mentioned so far XD
And its very amusing to see just as many men as women commenting XD

My top choices would be...
Male characters: Karsa, Kalam, Gruntle and Shadowthrone, ( i know that would be weird, but sounds fun to me!)
Female characters: Apsalar/ Sorry, Stonny
"Severed heads always roll down hill..."

All you Rake lovers need to watch out. As soon as he senses imminent danger he's gonna go into Soletaken form and you don't wanna be in the middle of doin' it when that happens.

Ive always believed there IS such thing as too big Oo

My personal opinion is that Ublala Pung probably falls into that category.

The other potential problem with dragons is that mammalian and reptilian/avian anatomy isn't necessarily geometrically compatible.

The dark, noble, commanding types always get me, so Rake and Cotillion. Paran and Brys are also in the running but they're just too nice sometimes. :)

That may be. and probably Karsa Orlong, Icarium and any of the other non human characters as well, but this is all just for fun any way XD

Oh man I'd fall in love with Rake and be totally content with how unrequited it would be. I blame this on a long history of falling for people that were far more impressive before I really got to know them, you know?

Fiddler, though, I just want to hug and not let go. Like, ever. I've got a sort of kink for the sort of empathic power he displays. Also, music. ♥ Similarly, I'm a sucker for Cotillion's character, plus I got the impression that he was actually quite attractive, which never hurts.

As for as life companions, I think Brys and Tehol win first prize between them; Tehol would be much more fun to hang out with, sure, but Brys would be far less likely to embarrass you in public. Though, of course, Trull wins massive points, dropping out of the race only because he seems to be much easier to keep dead.

Oh! Bars. I don't know, dude, but I was in love with him pretty much everywhere, even if he doesn't show up all that much.

And Icarium. He sounds like a sweetheart, despite his ... er, issues. At least he'd be an exciting (and long-lasting) companion? Also, fights would be easily enough gotten over; just whack him over the head and when he wakes up everything is peachy. :)

Oh yeah, Coltaine!

As for Twist ... I can't help imagining a Barghast in a cockroach suit speaking Bushman. With a mangled arm. /)_(\

Everybody goes for the heroes!! Damn, ordinary men stand no chance in life.

How about Urb, poor guy sure is faithful or Badan, he never gave up hope. Kyle seemed to be a nice guy.

I'm gonna dance out of the line and say my first choice would be Udinaas.

That said, second would be Quick and then the usual suspects like Rake [and failing that, I'll take Nimander :)], Coltaine, Icarium, Trull, Tehol.. As long as Karsa stays the freak away from me. Same for Ublala, I find him rather annoying. I just prefer brains.

This is why I was a keen amateur writer myself when I had the time. You can make your characters get more impressive as you get to know them, and even make their failings attractive. But I always fall for the totally unattainable characters (unattainable even if they weren't figments of the author's imagination). Totally unrequited, and therefore totally safe!

For me it is Trull, Fiddler, possibly Quick Ben. Trull & Fiddler aren't afraid to cry and are so centered. Quick Ben is awesome but it would probably be like living with someone with scizaphrenia, which of the 9 personalities would you be with at any given time? He's like quick silver.

My personal opinion is that Ublala Pung probably falls into that category.

7 feet tall humanoids seem less likely to be problematic than dragons as tall as a house. We also have evidence that there has been plenty of interspecies mixing going on, so it's not too much of a stretch.
