my two or three cents:
1. mostly i haven't read the books recently enough to have a coherent valid belief here, i just have my memories, and as i said in my CoT thread, the sexism seriously seemed so nonexistent there I can't help but wonder if it was mostly from Kate Reading's way of reading the female characters, so at least in CoT my harsh "it's sexist" criticism seems to not be there
2. you seem to make a thesis statement that this should be talked about & defended if you believe, like yourself, that his female characters are overall not sexist. i agree with this statement, at least, but then i didn't see you actually argue this point. b/c of my CoT read recently i have intense mixed feelings about this and maybe i'll try to make a grander point later, but ridiculously tired now. just thought i'd comment and say hi. hope your life is less wreckage, more joy now.

I didn't argue a lot of the points in the OP because I didn't want to detract from the immediate argument, and I knew that most fans are familiar with the arguments regarding sexism - I just wanted to address the overarching issue. If anyone is interested, there have been three updates to the post. Brandon has been quite engaging on the subject; I bet many of you would find it to be entertaining.
