WARNING THE POSTER HAS TAKEN A SLEEPING PILL BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO POST. I SUSPECT iT MAY COME ACROSS AS INCOHERENT BABEL.
So I had planned on re-reading all the books before I took on this epic, made it through DG then SW showed up, so I read that (slowly I might add, much slower that I expected to. RotCG was much more fun as a fast read.) and now I've been staring at TCG for 3 days now, undecided weather to pick up MoI or just read TCG. If I continue my re-reads it might be close to 2 months before I get on to tCG. But of course, its staring me in the face and I want to read it now. I did read the chapter 1 excerpt on this forum a while back, and cannot remember that last time Ganoes and the Host showing up anywhere after BH. I vividly remember the first 6 books, but RG TTH and DOD are just a blur. Of course, those 3 books as well as RotCG and KoK are loaned out at the moment. As much as I try to separate the last books in my mind I can't seem to bring up mention of Ganoes anywhere. Last I remember he was marching on that wacko cult where Felisin Younger was kidnapped and forced to live some kind of demented life of sloth and excess as to be some kinda of icon for what the rest of the cult of miserable, deformed, plague ridden bastards, couldn't have or enjoy. He's within sight of the place when his scouts were like 'No dude, don't even go there.' So he abruptly turned the whole damn army around and went the other way. I remember DoD being absolutely crazy, fraught with betrayal, peeps getting pissed and going on murderous rampages. (well, Tool...) and all I wanted out of DoD was wtf happen to Hood from TTH, but don't remember Hood making an appearance for longer than a paragraph. Can't remember Ganoes showing up in DOD for the life of me...
So... whats keeping me from reading this awesome book is Ganoes.... wtf was he doing last time he showed up in a book. I swear I remember him and the host being summoned back to Quan Tali? by the Emperor Mallik Rel, to which Ganoes responds 'no we ain't going' and I read that before I read RotCG and remember thinking 'WTF!? How did THAT asshole get past Laseen? well then i read KoK and RotCG ans was like 'oh, hail emperor.' so, if i dreampt this up or confusing Ganoes with something else BH was the last time he made an appearance. (well aside from being mentioned during fid's readings.) If i didnt dream this up it would have to be somewhere in DoD. Dammit I cant remember exactly what happen to guntle and that tygalle trade guild peeps either. did they end up getting crashed out in the wastelands? or where they inside dragnipur.... OH OH something might have just come to me.... nope lost it. wait--Ganoes went to dragnipur to talk to hood after dessem dragnipurd rakes face. LMAO did that happen or am I just making shit up now?
OK - If you made it through that mind maze to this point, please tell me that last time we encountered Ganoes with his army. Was it bonehunters? Or did he continue his trade guild runs in the later books. thought he was done with the trade guild when he found the army, so I must be getting him mixed up with guntle. LOL i have no idea.
I just figured out my mind maze... I read the first 6 books before I got hold of these sleeping pills.... read the last 3 while on sleeping pills. I could speculate If the'd just legalize weeds I could get baked, read, fall asleep timely and stay asleep all night and still remember everything i read when I woke up. these sleeping pills on the other hand, seem to be giving me a front row seat to Alzheimer.
